Stealing this idea from another forum, a fantasy share trading competition.
*You don't need to be experienced*
The competition will consist of a league table, and very lenient rules - this will be good practise for all participants (and free!). Another good thing is that it is impossible to cheat.
Starting rules:
Start with £10k with no resets so your portfolio will run forever.
There is a £10 commission charge (fee paid when buying AND selling shares) and the stamp duty is a charge that accounts for 0.5% of the entire value of the trade. This is ONLY paid upon buying shares, NOT selling.
You can only trade shares listed on the LSE.
HOW TO ENTER THE COMPETITION
1/ Goto https://www.lse.co.uk/register.asp
2/ Enter your details. Make your username your MSE username or similar
3/ Click Register and go to your email account.
4/ Click the registration email when it arrives (usually 5 mins max)
5/ Sign into your LSE account at http://www.lse.co.uk/
6/ Click the 'Share Game' tab
7/ Click the Fantasy Share Game link
8/ Click 'Search/join Game'
9/ In the Game Name type MSE Trading Competition
10/ Enter the password
msemembers
Make sure you use lowercase letters.
11/ All done!
Should be good fun and practice!
I'm putting together a short guide to using LSE but it is pretty intuitive.
Just post if you are joining and I'll update the post with current members

Sounds interesting, The_JinJ. I think I will give this a whirl.This is everybody's fault but mine.0

I signed up but it wont let me add stocks.
I usually enter stockchallenge and it has a monthly prize and isnt possible to manipulate as you cannot touch it for the whole month.
A fantasy game like this becomes about trading not investing which is probably not the focus of this forum
Prizes for 1st to 3rd is hundreds of pounds, nice bonus for a game0 -
Sorry, not sure how it happened but seems the game doesn't start until Monday 9th! There isn't a setting that I can change to alter this.....hmmmmNeil0

I'm in, but cant buy yet waiting for next Monday's start date to roll around. Hopefully I won't have forgotten all about it by then...0
