All inclusive - yes or no?

Four of us thinking of going to Spain. Two adults, two children 8 and 10 for 7 nights.

Worth going all inclusive or would it be cheaper to go for bed and breakast eat out?

Can be boring, do the children get bored on holiday with their food?

depends on how much the ai option is. we went to menorca last year (which i know is expensive). we spent over £1000 in 2 weeks 2 adults, 12yr,7yr and 2yr old.
i would choose AI next time. 2euro for a beer/coke. 2+ euro for an ice cream. 2-3 euro for a milkshake. it soon adds up and we spent a lot of our holiday saying 'no'.

If you go to a cheap AI and eat slop + Q for a an hour for watered down beer from a barman who's face looks as if the cost of each pint poured is coming out his wages, then yes it will be cheaper doing AI.

or a family of 4 could probably eat out 2 course + a drink each for around 30 Euro in a place where they really appreciate your custom.

    I know which Id choose

I'd go AI then if it's not good then you can always have a few meals out as a treat. At least once it's paid for then you don't have to worry.

How do you pick a non-boring AI hotel in Spain then?

TBH I'd go for the AI. My last 2 holidays have been the relaxing type, food was varied, beer was fine. We still went out every day, hotel packed us a lunch, or we'd come back for lunch. Even if you think about soft drinks or ice creams on holiday, it can work out quite expensive.

Tenerife for 2 in March AI was around £700 for the week
Fuertaventura for 3 in JulAugust was around £1000 for the week

But we felt we didn't really spend much when there apart from the usual outings. As it was a cheap (ish) AI, we had resigned ourselves to eating out a couple of nights if the food was bad, we didn't need to. And they had plenty of options for kids who like their fish fingers and chicken nuggets and pizza.
