But parents didn't spend a fortune on a dress that will probably be worn once, shoes, nails, fake tan and a stretch limousine years ago - at least mine didn't.

What's wrong with them? I think all those girls look beautiful.
The only thing I don't agree with is the large amount of money spent, but if the parents can afford it, who are we to judge?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
A college close to where I work had theirs on Friday - you could hardly move on the road for luxury hire-cars and pink stretch-limos ferrying sl*ppers to the party.
I borrowed a dress for mine, didn't cost anything. And no-one spoiled the evening by puking technicolour cocktails into the flower-beds or getting knocked-up by a guy they'll never see (or probably even remember).
I'm all for having a good time, but the costs in terms of finances and self-respect these days do seem quite ridiculously high...0 -

In that case i am glad my son is a boy. Since all we had to pay was £70 suit hire, £40 towards the party bus (couldnt get the stretch limo) and i gave him £20 for his drinks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If parents want to spend their money like that, why judge? I think the girls in the article all look gorgeous and most probably feel it too.Started 30/08/2011Biggest Wins: GHD's, 5* Trip to London, VIP Trip to Isle of MTV Festival in Malta.
