Thanks you for the birthday wishes.
My hubby hates pork unless it gammon, but done in the slowcooker with abit of honey and mustard, pork shoulder is acceptable and is the cheapest roast i can get my hands on
Ohhhh you have no idea my storecupboard is something else, i am trying to run it down along with my freezer, but as soon as i clear space i fill it again lol.
Won't be getting many pressies as i never do, i buy stuff when i want/need it so just tocken gifts, socks and choccys for the kids, mil bought me a yankee candle with a shade and a plate, some socks hair bands soap, chocolate, a egg timmer (she always has something practicial in her gifts). As for anyone else i'm used to not receiving gifts for them, i will def get a card from my granny with some money in it but everyone else is a wait and see job.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Gosh I wish I could do that, those prices are amazing. Unfortunately, I can't be in T3sco at the right time, plus they only have a tiny reduced section where you still pay 50% for meat that already turns green and veg that are inedible  I have to look again though as last time I thing I saw a section with tins etc. That might be more worth it than the "fresh"section in our supermarket.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)0 -

i never look in the dry goods reduced section, it's dinted tins with 5p off or packs of water with 1 missing but only 10p off, most of the time it's dearer to buy them because of offers are teh price of value things, my store has a reduced veg section, a reduced produce section for dairy and cooked meats ect, then a reduced meat section, they put reduced bread on pallets and they can be in a number of different places, i'm gutted they've stopped reducing the bakery bread tho.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Morning all, very spendy day yesterday as i had a whole day in the soft play area with the kids, we had a planned lunch there but all those extra drinks soon add up, not like me to not be prepared, £40 spent
I was home very late so didn't make soup, suggested going to lidl for the 3 for £2 pizzas but hubby said he didn't have time, so had a rummage in the freezer found some cocktail sausages, sausage rolls and a garlic bread, also threw together some pizza baps for the kids, wasn't an amazing tea but it was food. So i didn't make my soup, it was the soup veg i got the otehr day so really needs used, so i will make it now and we can have it for lunch over the next few days.
Forgot to lift beef shin out ( i really need to sort this meal planning out, it will get better when the kis are at school) so i'm going to lift out a packet of bacon and do bacon, beans and mash for tea.
Soups made, i'm not having any i don't like broth, however i amde a huge pot of it with 11p soup mix half a 11p bag of celery 8 carrots from a big value bag and a handful of red lentils that had been hiding in my cupboard, a good weeks wort of lunches for the kids
. I'm eatinga potnoodle, def not as healthy. DEC GC £463.67/£450

Happy belated birthday Quinny x
Soup is a brilliantly cheap meal. I made loads last week with 16p courgettes. Got 7 batches at about 7p each when you take into account stock and potatoes! Shame I can't convince DH it is a meal (if it hasn't got meat in it basically it doesn't count!)0 -
That made me lol, my hubby acually likes soup his faves are tatie and leek and tom (that ones from a famous tin) i don't think i could convonce him courgette soup was even edible nevermind a meal :rotfl:DEC GC £463.67/£450

You know what quintwins I absolutely detest courgettes but made into a soup they are really delightful! Most veg tastes nothing like the original when it is blended down!0

I don't mine courgettes in a stirfry or something but i'm the only one.
I have an appointment today, on the way back i'm going to call into sainburys and get DS3 a nice hoody i saw with the 25% off. i need a few bits of shopping aswell, just spuds (i might try the farmshop again) milk, bread and some fruit.
Found 2 sirlion steaks in the freezer when i was searching for bread so i think me and hubby will have them tomorrow might with hm chips as a nice fri night treat
Ok farm shop has spuds there £10 for a 20kg bag at the mo which is abit dearer than normal but around the same as buying value ones but there pipers so better spuds so i'm gonna run and get them later.
Oh dear i've been on amazon, spent £17 on 2 games the kids wanted, was £26 but i had a £10 giftcard, the 2 games were £40 in argos so i'm happy, they will be getting them for birthdays,
Also forgot to say spent £10 on dogfood last night and i just put £15 in my phone, this montsh awful expensive lol.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I have more expensive months than others, I felt so poor at the start of the month and was super-tight all month and its ended up being one of our best in terms of money management so I must try harder every month

That sounds good value for nice spuds. I don't mind paying a bit more if they are nice. My favourite spuds are Aldi jacket potatoes - all the big supermarkets are awful!0 -
lol i don't buy jacket spuds, what usually happen is i buy a sack and they do us 3+ weeks, but for the first 10 days there perfect for baked taties anyway and alot cheaper:)
i'm not going shopping this afternoon now because my mil needs me back from my appointment asap, so i'll go tonight and maybe get some whoopsies while i'm at it.DEC GC £463.67/£450
