It's a game of "OK where do you think the store is?"
I stand in various places in my local shopping centre and try a few check-ins. Once I find one that works I get an idea of how far out each one is.
It's like a game app where they pay you to play. :)
    Yup!

I think the problem in shopping centres is that it is using triangulation between different masts to locate you, but the signal from some masts may be being blocked and so it throws out the positioning. I've been miles away from a shop that I am stood right in front of.

    Good afternoon,

@richyp - I've spoken to our App team about this:
I have checked in to two different shops from the same retailer

Unfortunately this was a bug on the App, which has since been fixed - you should only be able to check into one shop per retailer.
I have also seen the opposite where by the store I'm standing by does not show up at all in the available list yet another store for the same retailer 5 miles away does show up for check-in.

Some check-ins are branch specific, so not all branches may show up on the App as available for check in.

    Thanks,

    Rosie

Are there any more shops coming onto this app? I've run out of them all and it's annoying to have to wait a whole month to do it again.

Also - some stores don't work for me even though I'm actually standing inside. It says 'no longer available'. What does that mean?

On Martin’s write up of this he mentioned a Facebook/Twitter ‘share’ of each check in pretty much doubles what you get (and in some cases more) but can see no mention of this anywhere other than this site. What’s the deal with this?

I'd like to know about this too, I don't know if Rosie can help?

It mentions it in the app itself, when you 'share' it. Or it used to anyway, I've not used the app for some time.

Sorry, i know this is an old thread but i absolutely love this app.
I've set up empty twitter accounts so I can always post the checkin there and get the extra 5p too without winding up real followers.
  • I have had no check-in offers available in the app since early November - have check-ins stopped now or is it just me?

Same here, Pretty sure i read here or hotukdeals?
that Quidco are now only showing money off for retailer's
as it was better for Quidco user's!!

Think id prefer the money check ins as previously!

I've not seen a checkin for some time now, so I guess they're done with.

Shame, because it was quite fun, and I got to go in some shops I'd previously never heard of/noticed.

I've never been inclined to go to a place to see what purchase related offers there are and I've never used one of the offers on the Quidco app, so it's a bit of a miss for me now.

Quidco's option to register your credit cards and have discounts automatically applied at participating retailers is good, but the in-store discounts is too much of a faff; TBH I can't be doing with cross-checking Quidco offers, Topcashback, Shopitize, iMutual and so-on before shopping - life is too short.
