I noticed yesterday that you can't check in to different shops one after the other anymore. When I tried to check in to my second shop in town a message came up saying I had to wait a few minutes between check ins.

Like everyone else I'm finding last weeks check ins haven't become available yet so with this new restriction too its getting a bit annoying now!

My understanding is the latest version of the app tends to crash a lot when you check-in or press cancel, also you have to wait ~4 minutes between each check-in regardless of retailer - the older version of the app did neither of these.

Also I believe the repeat period is monthly so you have a month to get the full set before repeating ;)

Just installed the App. Might have a play with it today when I'm walking home from work, I walk right through central London so should be plenty of shops to check into!

    Hi everyone,

This topic has been brought to our attention, and I'll be happy to answer your queries wherever I can.

In regards to the amount of times you can check in - this is budget based. The majority of retailers will offer check ins around every 28 days, but some may come off earlier if they reach their budget.

With the stores appearing in the wrong location - this is an ongoing problem as we currently deal with over 70,000 retailers, so there are a few snags that need ironing out! The problem seems to be worse with malls/shopping centres etc. as it is very difficult to pin point the exact location of the shop, within a centre. As with any problems you encounter on the App, if you press the 'problem?' button, this will go directly to our App team, who will get on resolving this as quickly as possible.

We're going to put together a little FAQ on here, so if there's any questions you'd like answering, do let me know:

Q: How often can I check in?
A: Most retailers allow one check in on their brand every 28 Days.

Q: When Do check ins Expire?
A: Check ins are budget based and expire once that budget has been exhausted, sadly there is no way of providing an exact date as to when a particular deal may end.

Q: I was unable to check in, so I submitted a 'problem' report via my phone, will I still be paid?
A: As long as you checked in from the store and you have not had another check in with the retailer in the last 28 days you should be awarded a check in within 28 days (usually 72 hrs)

    Many thanks,

    Rosie

    Hi Rosie

    Thanks for posting.

I have a multi part question. On some occasions I have checked in to two different shops from the same retailer in the same day (e.g. my home town and the city I work in). Yet other retailers sometimes it says the check-in is unavailable or when you check in to one store , all the other stores for that retailer 'disappear' from 'Nearby' list.

I have also seen the opposite where by the store I'm standing by does not show up at all in the available list yet another store for the same retailer 5 miles away does show up for check-in.

I guess what I'm asking is how focused is the campaign by each retailer for their stores?

I went to Woking on the weekend and bagged a couple of check-ins.

I went to Reading yesterday and there were no checkin offers at all in the town centre at all (I've never tried the app there before). There were some in a retail park just outside the town, but I didn't need anything from any and it wasn't worth making the effort to go there.

I went into London last week and took a stroll before and after work; the streets weren't exactly paved with gold but a few worked.

I'm finding the check in thing a bit obsessive; it's like "gotta catch 'em all.

Yes - its like monopoly, especially in london - its not so much the money - its more the game of it! I have 126 check ins now (£20.20) but its more the pounds I've *lost* with all this walking around that I'm more excited about!

Today I actually got 4 different Vodafone check-ins, 1 in home town and three in the center of London where the shops get a bit condensed. Its very odd how this works - there are still some other vodafone stores that are 'in range' but they don't have the check in now.

The other thing I found today (in the city) is that a lot of check-ins do not show up within the 5 mile radius but if you walk a mile or so in any direction not only do other ones pop up (making a mockery of the 5 mile radius) but some start to pop up from where you had originally come from and when you go back there you can get them! (this happened with some of todays Vodafone ones) Also if you do a search on some retailers only then can you see them on the map with check in cash available but you will not see them on the '5 mile radius' list - a bit buggy I think.

(Oh I should just add that ironically I did need a new iphone case (imagine dropping your iphone and smashing the screen just trying to get a 5p check-in!) and I did in fact buy it from vodafone because I was going there for check in - so it does work!)

Edit - just checked my app after posting and now ANOTHER vodafone has popped up just under a mile away which is still offering check-in. Mad!

I still don't get why M&S has never appeared on my app for check in.

It's a game of "OK where do you think the store is?"
I stand in various places in my local shopping centre and try a few check-ins. Once I find one that works I get an idea of how far out each one is.
It's like a game app where they pay you to play. :)
