It's anything that has a barcode, so they don't want to know about loose veg etc. Some barcodes don't scan though, in particular items from Next, anyone else had this problem? Never have any problems with my food shop.

They do want to know about loose veg, and any items not barcoded, such as meat from the butcher, which is where the bind comes in.

You have to scan it under non barcoded items, then select the grouip, such as dairy, Veg, fruit etc, then the item such as eggs, beef, tomatoes, then weight.

Can be a pain if you have no idea of weight, and loads of fruit / veg / meat etc from a market

Which is why nine times out of ten I just ignore such items if I have bought them.

No doubt it mucks up their statistics but any reasonable company would have this factored in any way

got this from the shopandscan website

Q3. What if I buy something without a barcode?

Many items of your shopping may not have barcodes, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. To help make the job as easy for you as possible we only ask you to tell us about barcoded items. If it doesn’t have a barcode you don’t have to record the purchase for us.

Ooops, my humble apologies, I should read the post, I was referring to the Factfinders - Nielsen one not shop & scan

  • I have been part of Shop and Scan for about a year now... and have £70 saved up. When i get to £100 I will get some High Street Vouchers and spend!!! :)
Takes a couple of minutes and we get something for nothing!! :)

I haven't had my points either but I did forget to transmit on Sunday and they sent me an email on Monday saying I could still transmit until the end of the day so they are obviously working to a later schedule this week.

It is as I just rang them to enquire about shop and scan and the lady said to me hello National Shopping Monitor as I asked her if they had any vacancies :) She said to me to wait for an e-mail which I will do :) Let you know if I hear anything and if I have been accepted :)
