Hello all you scanners/ scanners-to-be! :D I had an invite to complete a survey for Toluna which I did and was then invited to join Ac Neilsen Fact Finders. Been very excited about it :j but today I've read the comments on here (should have read them before signing up I know!) and am now thinking I really don't want to be doing it - a lot of work for very little. I am thinking of contacting Fact Finders to say I've had a rethink and not to send the scanning kit to me. They'll love me won't they! ;)

I have just registered with volunteers4panels - thanks for link haydav39 and will sit and wait and see if I can join them instead!!! :D

I'm doing fact finders... I don't think it's that much hassle, but no you barely get anything.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

I'm with Factfinders, as others say, rewards may not be worth the effort, it really does depend on your shopping habits

If you have family & lots of shopping, especially non barcoded items, then probably not worth the effort

If only you or 2, with little shopping, maybe bits & pieces, and then all barecodes probably OK

    Hi there
I do this with Nsm you have to scan everything you buy and post reciepts weekly, you can view your points online- ive been doing it for 2 months and i have £16 but i worked out i'll probably get £70 a year in total!
it's very easy to do and they provide all the equiptment, i'd say go for it!

£70 per year, you haver got to be joking. I have been with them for 3 years and have points worth nothing like that. In fact in the catalogue I have had a job finding anything i want to use my points and quit. I know this does not mean others who need a certain thing will not find it but this one is much more bother than the other that gives you money.

Just thought I would add, also been with Factfinders some considerable time now. Hardly got any points and struggling to find anything I want for the points I have. Will keep going until I have enough points for something I really need - may take awhile though!

NSM is different to Factfinders, NSM is where you scan your weekly shopping and post your receipts off. You receive monthly points for being a member and monthly points for sending in receipts. Plus you get bonuses after you've been a member for certian lengths of time. You get rewarded in vouchers for this, and it does work out to around £70 pa. HTH

I used some of my FactFinders points to get cinema ticket vouchers which I then gave to my Niece as part of her birthday present. Not bad for free. Also got one of those fancy Brabantina kitchen bins.

I find it takes me about 10 mintues as I'm sorting through my shopping on a Saturday afternoon and also helps me keep track of what prices I'm paying and what I'm buying.

As for being woken up by the phone ringing when they call to download the info that means you've set the cables up wrong. I did to start with but now I only know they've called if I do 1471.

i was with fact finders for about 8 months - scaning my shopping took lest than a minute - the only bind was when you had to scan from a book stuff like prepacked meat and loose vegtables and fruit

saved up enough of their measly points for a steamer and so have now closed the account.

the incentive rewards are not that good - becuase irrespective of the amount of stuff you scan you still only get 75 points a week

just waiting for shop and scan to come back to me now
