No one has any specific requirements for Jelly Bean yet, so that is a straw-man of your own making.

I think you dont seem to understand the reason for os update.
The update is done to add more functions, easy of use and make the os better.
All this can be used as soon as the update is available you don't need to have any specific requirements.
The Galaxy Nexs with Android 4.1 will have more functions then S3 and may even run faster as it will not have 3rd party add on. That's why Nexus is a better buy.

The version 4.1 is not only about fix the bug, it has many functions available.

Not if you want expandable storage, more RAM, a faster processor or a removable battery, it isn't.

Flash is working fine on a galaxy nexus running jelly bean. Adobe just said they wouldn't guarantee or patch any versions of android after ICS. OP hasn't a clue what they are in about in the slightest.

Until updae is released you cannot get Google Now you can with Nexus. The jelly Bean have many added functions.

Google has officially unveiled Android 'Jelly Bean' 4.1, taking on Apple's Siri with enhanced voice-driven search and a personal assistant feature called Google Now.

By the way Nexus do work faster because do not have 3rd party stuff on it. It's a Google stock phone.

Bad news since S2 is not that old.
I guess Samsung would prefer to sell new phones rather then update old ones.

Who wants official updates anyway? CyanogenMod 10 FTW!

The problem is many apps don't work if you root your phone.
Also many are not geek or dont have the time so prefer to follow the official update path.

The Google Now (like seri) is going to work with the Galaxy Nexus but not with high end newer S3 until the official update is released sometime 6 months later
