For now the update for Samsung S3 to Jelly Bean, the new version of OS is not available. The Samsung will not confirm the release date. Looking at the past example it may take months, the update for S2 to Android 4.0 released around 6 months later after the release.

If you are looking forward to using Android 4.1 Jelly Bean you will better of saving some money and buy Galaxy Nexus, the first phone to get the update. The Galaxy Nexus is cheaper than S3 and you will have new version of Android on the day of release.

However the new version 4.1 do not support the Flash. If you watch videos such as You Tube using Flash, this will not work with the new OS.

I am sure many Android Users will say that you buy the phone as it is, do not expect updates or why would you need to update.

It is good to be aware of update in case if you are thinking of buying a phone to have the new OS. This will save time and money.

    What is negative about this?
    What point is not true?
The Galaxy Nexus is going to have the new OS update before all other devices. Do you not think people looking to buy Android might be better off with Galaxy Nexus and have the new OS? It is also cheaper then S3 by around £200.

One of the main point of Android OS was to have Flash which is not available now?

It might be true but I feel it necessary to point out to the uninitiated that you are a heavily biased poster and your sole aim on this board appears to be to spread anti-android propaganda at every possible opportunity.

I'm sure that on searching for your posts one would not find:-

    a) a positive story about an Android phone
    b) a negative story about an Apple phone.

Misleading again. The YouTube app will not cease to function, nor will videos embedded via HTML5.

So if you want flash support, you need to buy an iPhone?

And it doesn't have expandable memory or a removable battery. Or a quad core processor. Or 2GB RAM.

@ the OP... What is the point of your post?

Anyone who wants Jelly Bean on their Samsung Galaxy S3 (or any other modern android device) can easily search Modaco, XDA or such and install a custom ROM as and when they're released.

    Oh!
No the iPhone never had flash, the Apple even made a big deal about not having Flash.
This was one good thing about Android until Google removed it. Why take stuff out which make Android better then other phones.
