I filled in the online form and received a very good looking quote. For some reason I never clicked purchase as I was always told if it looks too good to be true it is and you get what you pay for.
I decided to research this company some more and I am so glad that I found this thread. Some of these claims are alarming and quite worrying.
I would like to ask a question to the very busy representative Amber: On the email I was sent with attached PDF documents and a link to where I can pay to continue, it states at the foot of the email "We've been rated 5/5 by our customers" where/who rated you 5/5 as I find it hard to believe reading these reports.0 -

It's just marketing BS, the full wording from their website is "Holidaysafe has been rated 5 / 5 based on 40 customer reviews."
So they simply chose 40 customers who have given a five star review and use them and voila they can say "Holidaysafe has been rated 5 / 5 based on 40 customer reviews."
Amusingly the first review only gives them 4 stars, the staff seem to have missed this.

Hi Ristac,
Thank you for your post.
As mentioned above, the statement you are referring to is from our reviews page, where we have been voted 5/5 by our customers http://www.holidaysafe.co.uk/customerreviews/.
We also have an independent Trust Pilot Review page, which is sent to every single customer who purchases a policy from us. On this page, our rating is 8.9/10 with over 325 reviews posted so far https://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/holidaysafe.co.uk.
I hope that answers your question, and if you have any further queries about your quotation or Holidaysafe please do not hesitate to contact me directly via Holidaysafe@infinityinsurance.co.uk.
Kind regards,
Amber.“Official Company Representative

More propaganda and abuse of your permission to post purely to "solve issues"
But how trustworthy is Trust Pilot Reviews?
The last two reviews (posted in the last 24 hours) on your trust page wrongly report that they used your company because it's recommended on MSE! Strange coincidence.
Mse don't "recommend", but does say you are cheap.
Readers of this thread will see why you are cheap0 -
Received a letter just this morning...Holidaysafe are unwilling to pay any part of our claim.
Our hire car was broken into while en route to the airport and a number of things including 2 Ipads were stolen.
Apparently, being inside a suitcase inside a locked car was not good enough!0 -
Dear Sallyben,
Thank you for your post, my name is Amber Howard and I am the Brand Manager for Holidaysafe.
I am very sorry you are unsatisifed with the outcome of your claim. I cannot comment on individual cases, however thefts of items left in unattended motor vehicles is a common exlcusion across all travel insurance policies, and so is industry standard practice.
If you feel that you would like to appeal the outcome of your claim, or make a formal complaint, the details of how to proceed will be on the last page of your policy wording.
Kind regards,
Amber.“Official Company Representative

Hello,
just spent a tortuous quarter hour or so navigating the website, filling in copious details, and typing info payment card stuff, only to get the error message;
An error has occured - please contact 0845 658 0570 If you have made a payment it may have been taken.
... of course when I do phone the number the polite voice tells me they are closed for the weekend. I suspect I have been debited a pile of money and not left with any insurance cover. Is there a fast way to resurrect my submission, or is it a case of phoning the 0845 number next week and just holding on, and on?0 -
Hi all,
Unfortunately I have just come back from a trip to Turkey where the villa we were staying at was broken into while out for dinner. The safe(s) were ripped out from the wall (later found smashed open with cash/jewellery and cameras gone), whole house turned over. Off on a bad foot finding out that my prize camera will entitle me to 75% of what I paid for it.
I wonder if Amber would have time to suggest if I am able to prove ownership over jewellery with pictures? My fiance and I are struggling to find the receipts for her jewellery.
Will report back on the progress. Simply went with this company based on MSE top recommendation. Hope this is fore filled and Martin hasn't turned his once helpful website into advertising space..0 -

Dear Nickjdunkley,
Thank you for your post.
Firstly I am very sorry to hear about your situation, I have double checked with our claims team and I can confirm that they would accept jewellery boxes or photographs of you wearing the jewellery as proof of ownership if you cannot find the original receipts.
Unfortunately our cover for possessions is not new for old, and so there may be deductions based on the age of your items - this is standard practice across the travel insurance industry.
If you have any issues, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at Holidaysafe@infinityinsurance.co.uk.
Kind regards,
