Horse appears to have fixed himself - he was sound as a pound this morning, even voluntarily trotting up a rocky bit of field for his breakfast. Fingers crossed

I'm now only £259 away from paying myself in full. Unfortunately I've taken a grand total of £6 in sales so far today, so it's going to take a small miracle in overnight sales for the bankings to make that tomorrow morning - but, as DF2012 says, stranger things have happened

Good news on the horse. Just to be prepared, sometimes abscesses can present like that. But looking on the bright side, sometimes it just disappears and you never know what happened!
Fingers crossed for mega-sales tomorrow then. :dance:0% card was £1126.91 / Now £1502.37

Well, I banked £151.20 this morning. It would have been over £200 if two of the orders via my website hadn't decided to pay by credit card, but that money will turn up Monday or Tuesday. Technically, I have enough in the account to pay myself in full with £50 to spare, but I posted a cheque yesterday for £189.50 and so just in case they're super-efficient and pay it in today, I'd better keep £200 back for now.
Time for le scores on le doors and please bear in mind that the business account has forked out £2196.68 to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs this week (ouch!).

Remember last Friday I was hoping for the same 43.75% uplift as I got the week before, which would give me bankings of £1321.42 for the week? I ended up 104.35% up and banked £1878.50
:j:beer: which is why the business account doesn't look quite as dreadful as it should.
And First Direct doubled my interest paid to a whole 2p
Thanks to collecting hay tomorrow, we're doing the Tesco shop today, which is a bit of a problem as I only have £128 left in my current account and I need £120 of that for the hay. I asked Mr Minx if he could pay for the shopping today and I'd transfer half the money to him tomorrow (usually we do it the other way around, I pay, he transfers) and he's insisted on paying for it all without me paying him anything back, bless him. I'm running a bit low on fuel as well, but I'm hoping the 180-ish miles left in the tank will hold out until we go in on Tuesday for MIL's birthday - though it's got to do about 90 miles today, 15 miles on Monday and then at least 26 to get to a filling station or 45 to get to the cheaper filling station (we're heading there on Tuesday anyway).0 -
I have hay
I wasn't sure whether the neighbour who was kindly driving me (Mr Minx won't let me drive his truck, let alone drive it with the stock box attached) was going to use one of his trailers or hook up to ours - we took ours in the end and I know how much it goes through in fuel to tow, so I gave him some fuel money, which means I won't get to the end of March on what's in my wallet. I still might make the end of this month though, watch this space....!
Unfortunately it was too wet to get the quad and trailer down the hill, so after a quick lunch I spent the next hour and a half traipsing from the drive down to the hay shed with a wheelbarrow. Trying to barrow and carry (the swamp around the hardstanding entrance is too thick for the barrow) two bales at a time down a lumpy field in a wind that's gusting to 45mph is TOUGH. I started doing singles after a particularly strong gust tipped the barrow, catching me between the handles and sending me flying and managed to get 17 out of the 40 down. I've got to get the rest done by Monday night because that's when we're due to get some proper rain and I don't want it getting into the trailer and spoiling the hay as the trailer's not completely watertight.
35 orders to go on Monday at the moment, so tomorrow is going to be hay, business accounts, photographing a couple of items for a jewellery-making magazine that emailed me late yesterday to ask if they could feature them in their next issue (yay!) and throwing beads in jiffy bags

So, basically today was exercise day! Absolutely sounds tough going. I grew up in a windy city, so I know what gusts can be like.0 -
I had to fill up the car today, we had a mother in law crisis and had to go into town. Fortunately Mr Minx offered to pay as I've been chauffeuring him around all month, as NatWest is convinced I've only got £8.27 to my name, despite Mr Minx's £650 leaving his account yesterday.
That kind of threw a spanner in the works for my plans for the day. I couldn't do any more hay thanks to the weather, so once we were back from town I hunkered down in the annexe and got the photographs done and packed some orders. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day.0 -
Not much to report, sales are going well

Ugh the hay shifting sounds painful and familiar. Still, at least you don't need to pay a gym subscription

No gym to pay it to here
(OK, I'm maligning the North Coast Leisure Centre a bit there, it does have a small gym, but it's 7 miles away in the wrong direction).
So, sit rep for February so far: £1175.36 banked in three days with about £100 of credit card payments in transit and £62 in PayPal. £25 paid off the Nationwide card and £40 (I think - it might have been £30...I have PMT brain!!) paid off the target Egg card. I forgot to report last Friday (or possibly it should have been the Friday before, I can't remember!) that the credit cards are now under £10k again
Onwards and downwards

Well, well, well - if I can bank £220 tomorrow morning then my takings for the year have finally caught up with the takings for last year. I've got £20 in transit from a credit card payment and £105 in PayPal at the moment, so I need another £95 by the morning. A regular overseas customer tried to place an order last night, but thanks to a comms failure between my card processor and his bank, it didn't go through. He emailed me to ask if I could look into it for him, as he wasn't sure whether the transaction had processed or not and said he'd pay by PayPal if it was easier, but he won't have got my reply until abut now (he's on the other side of the world) and I need to know how many pairs of the earrings he thought I was out of stock of he wants before I can send him the PayPal invoice. It's already over £100 without the earrings, so that transaction would do it as well.
Still worrying about cashflow. The problem is that it's not easy to make a ton of cash when you live in the middle of nowhere
I don't mind retraining or studying for another degree if it gives me the opportunity to earn more, but there just aren't the jobs - and who would take a chance on remote working for someone who'd essentially be entry level in whatever field it was? 0
