Yay :T:T
Mr Minx was out last night at the annual dinner for the local Chamber of Commerce, so I worked late and packed some more orders as I had a suspicion it was going to be a busy weekend. Sure enough, I had 19 to go by this morningI think I may be doing Saturday post-outs from now until Christmas.
It was the usual trip around town today, £86 in Tesco plus worming tablets for the dog, mince and steak from the butcher, cold and flu tablets for Mr Minx (who's now come down properly with the bug I had on holiday) and a quick bite to eat while we waited for mother in law to get back from her shopping trip.
I've managed to work with the horses every day so far this week and although Merlin has done an admirable impression of a yellow donkey when I've asked him to do some in hand schooling rather than taking him for a walk around the village, it's been fun and a good way of breaking up my working day a bit.0 -
You'd better make sure you don't mix up the cold and flu tablets with the worming tablets.
Mr Minx might be in for a nasty surprise otherwise. :rotfl:June 16 Mortgage Amount £82,896.15

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Well, the dog's been dosed and isn't running around the place high as a kite, so I think we're OK!0 -
I ended up going back into town today as Mr Minx has come down with my bug, only it's the supercharged man-flu version that means he's been coughing so hard he's been throwing up. We forgot the yoghurt yesterday anyway, so I charged off into town, raced around Tesco, came back - got 10 miles towards home and realised I'd forgotten the yoghurt AGAIN! Mr Minx had texted me to ask if I could get honey and lemons as well, so I drove back to town, went to the Co-Op (who had all the checkouts closed and one person on the tills at the cigarette counter trying to serve a line of 10!), drove home again and then spent the afternoon persuading the horses that they wanted to come for a walk around the common grazings in the village with me.
I forgot to mention yesterday that £20-worth of M&S vouchers arrived in the postI get all my office supplies for the business from a company that does a rewards points scheme and they were discounting £10 M&S vouchers for some reason so I was able to get 2 for fewer points than I'd have needed for a £20 voucher. Unfortunately you can't use them online, but I'm off to Inverness next month so I shall have a mooch around and see if I can replace some of my aging underwear :rotfl:

Maybe its Co-op national policy as thats EXACTLY what they do in our local one too. I've given up and gone elsewhere before now. To make matters worse theres the compulsory blether with each customer as everyone knows eaxh other :eek:0 -
I *nearly* had my first £1000 Monday for a while - £977 banked
I've had two work-related problems today. The first was an email from the Hong Kong supplier to tell me that the courier who was supposed to collect my order from them on Thursday hadn't. It's taken a day of emailing but I think I have that one sorted out now and fingers crossed it should be picked up tomorrow.
The second one is slightly more worrying - an email from eBay Collections to say that I need to pay them US$15.21 immediately or my account may be limited. Not Good. This stems back to the problem I had before I went away when I started getting billed in dollars for 24 hours. The invoice was generated while we were away and when I tried to pay it, payments made just credited to the UK account and any attempt to set up an automatic payment method simply changed the payment method for the UK account. After a few emails back and forth with eBay Customer Support, they recommended I overpaid my UK account and they'd transfer the credit balance across. So far so good, the transfer was made on 11th September and the balance went to US$0.00. But when I re-opened the shop after we got back, the 9 or 10 items I'd been billed in dollars for started generating final value fees on the sales....in dollars. So there's a balance on the account, eBay's computer has looked at it, can't see a payment made and thinks the account's in default.
I've emailed Customer Support and the Collections address to explain what's happened and I've ended and relisted all the affected listings, so at least it won't happen again, but I need to get the UK account into credit again so they can do another credit transfer for me and that's going to mean making a big payment before the end of the month which could be slightly problematical.0 -
Things are looking better today - not financially, sales were pretty awful, but I got an email from Hong Kong to say that the courier had collected the boxes and after a second, less polite email arrived from eBay Collections, I rang the Customer Support number and spent quarter of an hour chatting to a nice Irish bloke who's helped me sort it out. I had to overpay the GBP account again which was £220 that wasn't supposed to leave the account for another fortnight, but fingers crossed that's it sorted.
Other than that, it's been a pretty dull day - an hour and a half of ironing and a visit from the library van and that's about it.0 -
Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Temptation has been thrown in my path in a massive way.
Turn the clock back 2 years. I was just starting to look for a second horse to keep Merlin company and this little chap - a Highland x Andalusian, my two favourite breeds - was advertised for sale on the Highland Pony Society website.
I fell instantly head over heels in love, but he was only 18 months old and I didn't have enough confidence in my ability to bring up a youngster, so I didn't take it any further. The advert disappeared off the site, I assumed he'd been sold and that was that. But I never forgot him and every so often I'd wonder who bought him and how he was doing.
Yesterday I was chatting to someone about Highlands and Andalusians and mentioned this fellow, tracking down the photo above to show them. They thought he looked superb and this evening I caved into temptation and stuck a post on a Highland-related Facebook page asking if, by any chance, anyone knew him. I now have his owner's contact details and the person who passed them on is pretty certain he's still for sale. Husband has NOT been helpful by offering to buy him if he's within a certain budget.
My head says that I absolutely must not, under any circumstances, contact the owner. My heart, as you can guess, is saying something completely different. I am going to be good for now, but if she still has him when my personal debt is paid off, I'm not going to be held responsible for my actions.....0 -
