I happened to find myself at Morrisons in Fort William on Friday night and saw a big truck with a trailer laden with hay on it. It made me think of you
wrong truck and trailer but I did have a chuckle about it!
Hope you are back on track soon - but great that you've had such a fab holiday0 -
Sales not great today - lots to go (47 orders) but most of them under £5. I had the first delivery from the UK supplier tonight though, and got it all up for sale before I finished for the day, so hopefully that'll produce some more dosh.
I did get round to putting Merlin's rug back up for sale and had two people say they'd buy it within 5 minutes! Since they know each other (and me!), I let them fight it out between themselves as they both commented on the post at *exactly* the same time, and the winner is coming to collect it tomorrow morning with cash
This week I'm experimenting with Ten Minute Tidies - I set the timer on my phone for 10 minutes and belt round doing as much tidying up and housework as I can in that time. Today I managed to wipe down the kitchen units, wipe down the front of the freezer, clean the sink, put away all the stuff on the draining board, put a new bin liner in the kitchen bin, make a pile of recycling to go out to the bin on my way back to the annexe, took the jewellery that was sitting on the living room table back upstairs to the jewellery box, took the bedroom bin back upstairs from being emptied this morning, folded the bathroom towels, folded the bath mat and put away the iron. Phew! I then tried to repeat the trick in the annexe and only got my desk cleared, but if you'd seen the state of my desk that's actually not badTomorrow I'll try the same again - the bathroom needs a clean and the shower is being slow to drain, so that'll be my focus.
Not much else to report, off to give Mr Minx a massage as his hip is sore from walking home from the bus stop. £10.60 for a day return ticket for a 16 mile journey!! You can get a peak Zone 1-4 travelcard for that!! It's subsidised if you're under a certain pay grade, but it still seems expensive.0 -
Hi Cazmanian Minx,
Just dropping by! I thought I'd subscribed to your diary, but it seems I hadn't! I have now though!
You had a very productive day on the home front! [STRIKE]I need to have one of those...[/STRIKE]Debts: Credit Card: €6000 ---> €5050 Feb 25 \ Overdraft: Step 3/100

Rug gone, £25 in my wallet
In less happy news, the bicarb, white vinegar and boiling water trick didn't work for the shower, so I'm going to have to get something stronger at the weekend - annoying on the finance front and the eco-friendly front as our septic tank isn't too fond of chemicals.
What else has happened today? The second UK supplier delivery turned up and got booked into stock and the Hong Kong supplier emailed to say my order was ready to collect, so I've arranged a courier to pick it up on Thursday. I *really* need to place a flatbacks order, but just don't have the spare cash at the momentThat said, I made a big transfer into the VAT and tax savings account today - I wasn't paying in my 5% in the run up to going away just to make sure I had enough cash and now that's all caught up. I suppose I could use that money, but I'd rather wait a little longer.
The final credit card payment of the month got made today as well, so I rounded off the bills account into my sweep savings and transferred the rest into the NatWest overdraft. Now I just have to keep as much money as possible in the bank for the rest of the month...0 -
I had a shower this evening and it does seem to be draining faster than before, so all is not lost - I'll give it another blast with vinegar and soda tomorrow and see if I can clear the rest of it.
Sales overnight weren't great, but just struggled into three figures. I had an abandoned order on my website from a regular customer which came to over £400; I'm crossing my fingers that she comes back and finishes it!! I've also bitten the bullet and ordered flatbacks as I've sold out of quite a few now and I'm getting requests for stock.
Happy thing of the day is that I won the local tack shop's Facebook competition and the prize was a £50 voucherI should really put it towards Finn's next Protexin bucket, which is £60, but I might just treat myself to a small something as well.

Need to catch up on shower - mine is doing the same (or not doing the same!)A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I don't seem to have done much today, but I'm knackered! Something to do with pushing two full wheelbarrows up a steep hill...
Just over £350 banked this morning and I had a rush of blood to the head and placed the flatback order, knowing that I needed to make another £350 of sales before tomorrow morning to be able to pay for it and the UK supplier payment I need to make tomorrow. Fortune favours the brave; not only did the regular customer come back and finish her order (albeit she removed quite a few items from her basket and 'only' spent £320!), but a French customer spent £260 as wellThe £320 came via a credit card, so won't clear into my account until Monday, but the £260 is PayPal and brings my PP account up to £307 this evening
What else? The 10-minute housework sessions are a success so far, the house is looking a lot better. Along with them I'm doing a one hour blitz of one room each Wednesday. Yesterday I attacked the living room, which looks a million times better, and today I spent 10 minutes waging war on our bedroom. I did some ironing as well, but I never mind that too much as I can watch trashy telly at the same time0 -
Hi Caz..just catching up..long overdue. Assume the holiday was super fab?
These 10minute blitzes sound a fab idea. Think I will try that tomorrow. Have done it before with the DDs but for 30minutes which sends everyone cross and mad..I think 10minutes may be more successful!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

The holiday was amazing, thank youHope the blitzes work with the DDs, I have about the same attention span for cleaning and tidying as a teenager, so fingers crossed it'll be as successful
Anyway, it would appear to be Friday again (how did that happen??), so here are this week's scores on the doors:
(last week/this week/ + or - amount)
Business
Overdraft: -£-8872.79 / -£7900.87 +£971.92
Business total: -£-8872.79 / -£7900.87 +£971.92
Personal
Overdraft: -£988.89 / -£1202.80 -£213.91
Egg card: -£3150.00 / -£3150.00 no change
Barclaycard: -£2495.00 / -£2455.00 +£40.00
Nationwide card: -£2600.00 / -£2600.00 no change
Personal total: -£9233.89 / -£9407.80 -£173.91
Grand total: -£18,106.68 / -£17,308.67 +£798.01
Things are moving back in the right direction, anyway. I keep worrying about the NatWest overdraft and then remembering that the business account, in theory, owes it £1100, so I haven't actually run it up on frivolous stuff, it's only a notional £102.80 overdrawn.
Got to run as I have £759.76-worth of orders to pack up and send out :j:j:j:j:j:j:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0
