Hi Caz
Sounds like everything going well up your way.
I have a really good EDT too - I am lucky - he doesn't really take on new clients now.
I think my girls would get on really well with your boys - they are also 'foodies' but unfortunately we don't have much grass at the moment.0 -
Ha, M doesn't get on with anyone he thinks will eat his grass
He likes to have a horse on the other side of the fence for company but is a bit grouchy about whoever's sharing a field with him, though Finn has now learned to get out of the way when M gets a certain expression on his face. Unfortunately this morning I happened to be blocking the exit route and nearly got knocked over and trodden on - fortunately just managed to keep my feet. Robbie the farrier came to give them a trim at lunchtime, the linseed and Pro Balance seem to be doing the trick with M's hoof crack and it looks like we might get it to grow out this time without having to shoe him. Robbie, who usually charges me £30 instead of his normal £40 for two trims, wouldn't take more than £20 off me today on the grounds that there was very little for him to take off. I am SO lucky with my farrier!
It's been a busy day. Some interesting proofreading this morning - obviously can't say much about it, but it was disciplinary hearings, which I've done for this client before, and there's always something in them that makes me go, 'Really??? Why on earth would anybody do that???' and today was no exception!
Orders weren't spectacular, but I was so busy with other stuff today that I forgot to transfer the money out from PayPal, so tomorrow might look quite healthy. I also got pinged by one of my private transcription clients to do some work for him this afternoon and had an email from the magazine client from a while back to say that payment had been initiated for my invoice

Hurry up Caz :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Well, since my parents always told me it was impolite to keep people waiting, here we go

Business
Overdraft: -£-6,520.00 / -£6,280.00 +£240.00
Business total: -£-6,520.00 / -£6,280.00 +£240.00
Personal
Halifax card: -£5,370.00 / -£5,310.00 +£60.00
Personal total: -£5,370.00 / -£5,310.00 +£60.00
Grand total: -£11,890.00 / -£11,590.00 +£300.00
Another £30 and I would have tipped over the £16k paid off mark - oh well, next week. The bead YNAB file is now in the happy state of having all outgoings for November covered (including paying myself another £400, which is going to help a lot, and putting aside £300 for the next VAT bill and the usual sixth of the tax bill). Okay, it might be partly because the Royal Mail bill runs on a 5 week cycle and so has to be paid on December 3rd instead of the end of November, but that would probably have been covered by Tuesday next week, so things are looking in reasonably good shape.
Right, back to proofreading about debit cards

I have a mostly very happy Mr Minx

The only thing bursting his bubble is that as we turned off onto the peninsular where the previous owner of the quad lives, there was a sudden smell of oil and burning and when we pulled up at the place he'd told us to meet him, smoke was coming off the diff on the Navara again
It had been fine up until that point, but this was the first time since it was fixed that we'd had it in 4WD with our ancient, very heavy, Ifor Williams stock trailer on the back. We rang the garage on the spot - fortunately Mr Minx is away in Manchester all week next week, so once we'd paid for the quad (haggled a bit and ended up paying £950) and loaded it into the trailer, we drove home very carefully in 2WD, unhitched the trailer, drove in a 2-car convoy into town and left it outside the garage ready for them to look at when they have time.
We're beginning to think that all the problems with the diff are stemming from the accident Mr Minx had in it a couple of years ago, when someone shot out of a side turning without looking and went straight into the front of him - the whole front wing had to be replaced, but we don't remember anyone actually mentioning the diff. We're pretty much resigned now to the fact that it's going to need replacing, but at least Mr Minx is being sensible and getting it repaired rather than deciding to simply buy a new truck.0 -
Oooo lovely shiny red quad ! We just sold ours as it was really on its last legs and someone needed one for spares ... I miss it
. Hopefully get another by the spring so me & dog can tootle around the farm again ! Mad dog loves to sit on the tank with the wind in her ears ! Me ? Not so much ! Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0
