Love it !0 -
I was just 12 hours too early, that's all - came out this morning to find M happily grazing in next door's top field and F bouncing up and down on top of the hill, yelling with indignation at being left behind!! I've moved and tightened the tape and stuffed the hay feeders full (we're due heavy rain for the next 24 hours), so hopefully he'll decide to stay put tonight.
I am nearly caught up after working until 9pm tonight. All stock, including today's delivery, is listed, a new stock order's been placed, orders were sent, proofreading was done and I got on top of the accounts. Still to do: mark down the tools, put all proofreading for this month into Excel, update the stock sheet and probably a million and one other things I can't remember right now.0 -
Ha, fence 1, donkey 0 - there was a big sulk going on in the field shelter this morning!
I don't seem to have got a lot done today, a bit of proofreading, packed some orders, did a bit of transcription for a client, went for a run (had to stop after 200 metre sprints and RFQS goats' cheese that was a week past its best before date proved incompatible....), changed the bedclothes (the dog has been sleeping with me while Mr Minx was away!) and that was about it really.
Anyway, it's Friday, so here are some late-breaking scores on the doors. Not very exciting this week, I'm afraid, hopefully next week will be better now I've got some best-sellers back in stock.

Yay, finally got all the tools marked down and have sold a toolkit already
Proofreading finished relatively early and now having a good laugh at Still Game live from the Hydro - we missed the first 15 minutes when it was on the other night, so downloaded it from iPlayer.
I'm not on shift tomorrow, but I have about 40 orders to go already and the equine dentist here in the afternoon, so it's going to be just as busy.0 -
52 orders packed and posted
£55 cheque paid in from a customer
Stock delivery
Orders from customers waiting for stuff in the stock delivery - over £500 within 2 hours of the emails going out
David the dentist did a superb job with the boys as usual - neither of them are ever exactly pleased about getting their teeth rasped, but he's patient with them and lets them walk around while he works if they need to. I am £120 worse off (ouch!), but that's them sorted for another year.0 -
Wahoooo to orders
Great that the boys are done for another year, it's always an expensive deal isn't it. Sounds like a lovely dentist too.Debt - CCV £3792

He is, he's fabulousDavid Brown, but I think he only covers Scotland.
Today has been busy - £1230+ of orders in 24 hours :eek::eek::D:D:D Got it all packed and posted thanks to the person who assigns my proofreading thinking it was Wednesday and therefore I was on a half day and not sending me any work. I was quite grateful, as it meant I got caught up on a lot of things and managed to do some work for one of my transcription clients who pinged me to see if I was available. I already have £240-worth of stuff packed and ready to go tomorrow.0 -
Oh dear, November just got more expensive.
Mr Minx has been wanting to buy a quad bike for ages, pretty much ever since we moved here six years ago in fact, but it hasn't really been high on the priorities list because our lovely neighbours always said we could borrow theirs whenever we needed. Well, they moved away earlier this year, and moving 40 bales of hay down the field with a barrow is a pain in the backside, so it went up the list a bit, but we weren't looking seriously until an advert popped up on a local forum overnight for a Honda quad about 20 miles west of us, old but looking in reasonably good nick (seller up front about the fact that the rear brake pads need replacing) for £1,000 - so we're off to have a look at it on Saturday morning when he's back home from working away this week.
And then about half an hour ago, the Foo Fighters announced their UK dates. Now, we saw them live at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 2011 and they were amazing, but we figured they'd only be playing Wembley or Milton Keynes and we were in two minds about whether we really wanted to spend the time and money to travel all the way down south to stand at the back of a vast stadium and watch five little matchsticks on a stage. Well, they've thrown a spanner in the works by announcing a gig at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh, 7 days before Mr Minx's birthday! Got to be done, really, assuming I can get tickets!0 -
