Guess who forgot her website was being migrated to a new server overnight?? Shop down, business emails down, complete chaos, basically! The migration is complete and I can now get to my email if I log in directly to the server, but I can't download them and the domain name hasn't resolved to the new server yet, so unless you go directly to the shop homepage address (the shop software is on EKM's servers, so still works), then it won't load. Aargh!
Plus French lady hasn't paid yet, so I only got to bank £160 this morning. Her payment would have just tipped me up into being able to withdraw £330, which would have put me 42% up on last year's takings for the same week and firmly back in the saddle, having been between 30% and 60% down on last year for the past seven weeks or so. As it is, I'm 'only' 24% up, but after the past couple of months, I'll settle for that quite happilyI shall be paying myself £300 on Monday, which is £300 more than I thought I'd be getting a couple of weeks ago, and all the big bills for June are already covered, so hopefully I'll be able to pay myself a bit more as the month goes on.
Anyway, some quick scores on doors before I go and pack.

Good morning from a hammock bed on a Megabus Gold coach somewhere on the M1
I have to say, this is an excellent service and I'm very glad you lot persuaded me to pay the extra for the sleeper bed, as doing this in a normal coach seat would NOT have been fun. We left Glasgow about 50 minutes late thanks to a problem with one of the doors, but have made up about half an hour overnight and I should probably make my connection onto the Cornwall train as long as the London traffic isn't too bad.
Holiday spends so far, £10.99 on a Big Mac and some snacks from M&S (parmesan, asparagus and truffle oil crisps anyone?? Surprisingly nice!)0 -
Having a fab time in Cornwall
Spent yesterday catching up with my aunt - lunch extended to four hours of gossiping in a local restaurant and then carried on for another hour back at her house! Today we've been to St Ives, where I found a post office to send off French lady's order (she paid on Friday afternoon, as did another customer and the exchange item arrived back as well, so that's three of the four orders I brought with me gone), had a fab day wandering around taking pictures and then went back to the car via a charity shop rummage because I realised that all the tops I have with me are at least 6 years old (they're all from Sainsbury's and that was the last time I set foot in one, we don't have them at home) and have holes under the armpits. Since St Ives and Truro are hotbeds for Joules, Musto, Crew Clothing, Fat Face, Weird Fish and Sea Salt, I thought I might be able to replace a few of them with some secondhand stuff, but I only found two things I liked, one men's rugby shirt - didn't recognise the label, but it's a cross between Crew, Joules and Abercrombie stylistically - which I got for £5.00 and a beautiful red and black silk fitted Laura Ashley dress, which my back was too broad to fit into
I was gutted, it was £6.50 and gorgeous. The lady behind the counter said about thirty people had now tried it on and none of them had managed to get into it around the chest area, she said it was such a shame as it was too nice to just be hanging there. So if you know any size 6 to size 8s near St. Ives looking for a gorgeous dress, tell them to go to the Cornwall Hospice Care shop and look at the size 10 dresses!

More shopping today
An O'Neill t-shirt for £2.10 and a Fat Face top for £4.29, so not exactly bank-busting, but I still feel I've had a splurge
I'm so glad I left the shop open for orders, I've taken nearly £400 since I came away and have just had to place a stock order for delivery on Friday so I can book it on when I'm home on Sunday and hopefully get some Sunday night sales.0 -
Woo hoo all round then

Glad you having a good time - have you had your HM lesson yet?
Its great that your shop is continuing to earn some money too whilst you are away. Who is looking after the boys whilst you are on hols?0 -

I went this morning and it was absolutely amazing. I was immensely grateful she didn't cancel it, since her stepmother is in hospital after breaking a leg yesterday, but not only did she go ahead, she was astonishingly generous with her time. I was only expecting a simulator lesson of about an hour, but she started by giving us (I was sharing the lesson with someone else) a ridden demonstration on one of her Lusitano horses, which was almost an hour, and then we had two hours on the simulators. Proudest moment - she said there was nothing that needed correcting about my rising trotI was expecting it to all go wrong with the canter, and it did, but I now know why it goes wrong and how to fix it. It was superb and I would recommend it to absolutely everybody interested in riding better. The only problem is that, having spent the morning sitting in a Vogue saddle, I now want one more than ever :rotfl:
The boys are being very well looked after by Mr Minx
More shop news, another £150-worth of orders have gone through, that's £519.16 since I went away :D0 -
Clearly you need to go away more often!!0
