To dye or not to dye - that is the question.

I always use the dylon machine dyes too, but I want to experiment with "dip dying" (where the colour is deepest at the bottom, and very pale at the top), which obviously can't be done in the machine.
Does anyone have any tips on the best dyes to use for this?0 -
You lot know everything so I'm asking this on here
- I have a gorgeous linen jacket, beautiful cut and fit, but it's in bright canary yellow. and I will look like a wee fat banana in it.
Is there any way I can dye it for this wedding ? it's Polyester.0 -

Doesnt look hopeful at all unfortunately! Try this but it says it doesnt always work. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

No it seems to be a pain in the !!!. I need to buy another jacket !!!0

Sorry but you won't be able to dye polyester successfully yourself. I used to work in a dyeworks and to get the dye to take on polyester we had to use a 'carrier' - a very smelly chemical and very high temperatures. Attempts to dye will probably ruin it so it would be better and cheaper in the long run to buy a new jacket0

ok, ta.. What I need now is a plan B......0
