    I would go in the local shops and talk to the people at the counters about the area and let them open up hopefully

    In some parts of Wales people are very suspicious of strangers or incomers and will lapse into speaking Welsh if one is in range.

    I don't see those as issues really, heres why;

    We live on a small island thast is over populated, highly desirable and has a slack immigration policy. In fact I believe theres a lack of housing yet an increase in people living here.

    I don't think we will have trouble letting or selling. With letting you just have to be willing to accept people on housing benefit and then it doesn't matter if your occupant has a job.

    As for selling, theres always gonna be another me out there. Theres a lot of people with this level of investment looking to buy and there always will be.
  • totally agree with you Phil, its a sad state of affairs for such places to have gone from thriving happy bustling communities to the depressed, run down soul less places they are today.

    Not on our honeymoon it wasn't! Granted that was 37 years ago lol.

    Or for that matter on Arriva Trains Wales, with some regularity!

  • Well Ive never encountered it when Ive been anywhere in Wales with my very English husband who usually always speaks first. Nor have any of my English relatives when theyve visited Wales.

    It probably depends how far off the beaten track you go! Or maybe we were just unlucky. Definitely true on the trains though. I can't believe there are many people whose ONLY language is Welsh these days.
