Down 1.48% in 2 months is good progress, just imagine where it would be if you hadn't had your LBM.
I totally understand where you are coming from re the not being interest on your BC as if it is that means they haven't stopped charging it. BC were the ones who cooperated with me straight away when I started my self-managed DMP a year ago. H^lif^x have been the most difficult, but finally, fingers crossed, seem sorted.
I now have lots of little Ds on my credit file, its very pretty and as I never ever want credit again as long as I live, I really don't care. If I can't afford to pay for it there and then I can't have it is my new motto.

Hi GB :wave::wave:
Your debt totals are coming down nicely, it's such hard work, but once the mindset is in place it's easier. I'm with granny, I'm never using credit again, if I can't afford it, I can't have it - simple!
I've enjoyed reading your diary and will be popping in regularly, maybe even daily - I'll be the neighbour you can't get rid ofTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

You'll have to fight NL for the neighbour title lol. She's my posting conscience... The little voice in my metaphorical ear, prodding me to keep updating. Hence no update in nearly the whole time she was away :rotfl::rotfl:
I too will never use credit again. Reformed, I am! Doesn't mean I won't spend, of course, but by having to work to a budget and save for things I want, I'll be a lot more careful what I spend it on!
I didn't get through my filing and sorting this weekend due to some family stuff, but I do know that my totals are definitely not right, as I got my LTSB statement in yesterday, and there's my £65 DMP payment off and £117 interest on! the estimated interest for next month is £36 which I guess is their 'reduced' rate kicking in. Still not great though, so I'll leave it a couple of months and then write nicely and ask them to consider 0% to assist with my financial hardship and reduce my debt. Can't hurt.
The lady from the garage dropped off our £50 refund this afternoon too (excellent service) since we've not been home on time to pick it up all week.
Back to work after an all-too-short weekend and into the month-end madness, so probably lots more late nights. Going to try for a few no-spend days this week too. :A0 -
OK - I definitely need to go through all of my statements. I checked a couple of the ones that I can access online and there are a few things that don't add up.
I need to check that I have a note of the correct payments going to the correct debt, as I have monthly payments against things that I think might be for another debt with the same creditor.
I also have a couple of accounts that are charging interest/charges. S4nt^nder OD is getting a payment of £16.50 a month but they're charging £20 authorised OD charge.
It looks like predicted charges for next statement are lower though, so maybe I need to wait till next month and see what's what.
Oh... also might need to CCCS to find out the basis for their payment calcs. We have two S4nt^nder ODs, mine and the Jt ac. one is 1000 and one is 870, monthly payments are 16.50 and 23.27 but the higher monthly payment is going to the lower balance.
Anyway, my % is currently sitting at [STRIKE]1.14[/STRIKE] 0.59%, not the 1.48% that I thought it was, and I also haven't crashed my 55k balance to 54kso I'll update my sig once I've gone through all of the statements and updated completely.
I sorta expected this based on the past posts on the DMP thread, but I'm still  about it.
*sigh*0 -
Got a bit tied up in work stuff (usual in the first couple of weeks of the month) but free of that now and have a long weekend :T
Also this week, I got the cheque in settlement of my PPI misselling claim. We can't retire on it, but it does mean we can put some in a savings account and gives us the safety net we need, and allows a wee bit of a treat too (new phones). No point upsetting the preditors this early in the DMP by giving them extra :rotfl:

Do they share their fat cat bonuses with you? NO, I thought not, definitely don't want to upset the poor dears, may confuse them too much. Enjoy the feeling of having a little spare cash for a while

We haven't bought the phones yet, as I'm waiting for the cheque to clear, but I'll be getting my iPhone 5 and the OH is dithering between that and the Samsung Galaxy S3. We've had these iPhone 3Gs for over 3 years, so we've done well not to upgrade them so far, but they're almost painful to use for anything now.
I've just updated my balances on CCCS and including the September payments that have now gone out, our percentage has changed and I have the first notch on our wee progress bar as we've also gone down to the next thousand mark. Sig updated :T It's still higher than it would have been if some hadn't dumped some charges on there, but it's better than making no dent at all like before the light bulb went off!
Last day of our long weekend holiday. We've been busy bees in the house and went out for a wee drive in the camper (a converted MPV) on Saturday to enjoy the sunshine and lovely Scottish scenery. Spent some time with my sister and niece on Sunday, and my sister came over yesterday to do some crafts with us.
Major lie in today (so late, I'm not even telling you what time!) but getting on with some stuff in the house today and just relaxing before back to work tomorrow.0 -
Did you make some pintrest crafts? If so what? Camper sounds amazing.
Now for the news that might give you a cadiac arrest: my mobile phone is 7 years old and doesn't have the internet on it, and OH's is older! xxMortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84
