Having said that, even if they Do try, if it looks even vaguely like you might file a competent defence (and theres plenty to choose from), the PPC will chicken out at the last minute, cos even they know they cant win. What they are hoping is that you wont file a defence, wont turn up at court, and so they win by default. Even if that happens you can get the judgement annulled and defend it properly and win.
Still sounds like a lot of time and effort wasted if that was to happen but I see what you are saying. Thanks for your reply. I think I am slowly progressing from anxious to angry and I can't wait to warn everyone I know in my local area. It's appalling that they can operate this nonsense.0 -

Do you have evidence of that?"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I got a Parking Eye scam invoice this week (checkout my scan on this forum). No way will I be paying it nor will I lose any sleep over it. Hell I even got the scam invoice on purpose as I knew the time limit and I knew I would be longer. I also smiled to the camera on the way in but they cut the windscreen out of the photo. :rotfl:0

I am a woman as well but I come on this forum and I ramble on like this. Here's my twopenn'orth:
A 'Parking Charge Notice' is NOT a real PCN but a fake one.
Just ignore it, EVEN if - like other deluded victims - you have 'already appealed' (errrrrm, no...you haven't...!).
The most that will happen is even more junk mail letters that you can ignore; you are just in the middle of a mail scam at the moment.
No private parking company (PPC) can actually issue a real fine or penalty. Nor can they affect your credit rating nor send a bailiff round without the small matter of winning a Small Claim in Court first!
Won't happen. Parking Eye tried it once that we know of (once in thousands and thousands of cases on here, plus thousands more not on here!) and they got short shrift from the judge when they tried to claim a stupid amount. And since then, there has been a binding ruling in a higher Court which should basically scupper any future attempt at Court by a PPC if the defendant simply gives their defence and also cites the case of VCS -v- HMRC.
You are perfectly safe and you need do NOTHING.
Please read on...
We have so much info on here to help newbies understand and be ready for the letters. One click & you see all current threads here, most of which are about the 'fake PCN' scam.
Third from the top, click on 'PPC letters & threats'.
1. Watch the Watchdog clip on there, and then
2. scroll down to the pics of Parking Eye's threatograms, then
3. Play a nice game of snap with each matching templated threatogram, then
4. Tell your friends & family, colleagues, strangers, everyone! about the fake PCN scam so they never pay one.
It is really easy.
I have ignored one too and I am a typical law-abiding lady like you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do you have evidence of that?
Of course not, conspiracy nutters don't let lack of evidence dissuade them from trotting out their 'truth'.
Bit like all religion really.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
They are now going to repeatedly send me mail and make me feel anxious every time.
If you are frightened by bits of folded paper then I seriously suggest that you pay up and then you can stop worrying.
No-one in their 'right/logical' mind should pay, but worry/stress/anxious people should pay up.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thought I would like to add that my uncle (who is over 80) recently had an invoice from Parking Eye, from overstaying in a Lidl car park.
I told him he could ignore it but he had already sent an appeal, Blue Badge and till receipt for £60 worth groceries.
Much to my surprise, he had a letter dropping all costs! :T:j:beer:
On this occasion, they do seem to have done the right thing. I was totally amazed0 -
So are we...but whilst it's good he might not get the letters now, he has just been used as a pawn I am afraid. It's because the PPCs are wanting to show the Government, via BPA information, that they can actually play nicely sometimes. Statistics can show whatever is needed - and in this case, they need some statistics that make it look like appeal successes are the norm. They are not.
Obviously the BPA want some successful appeals to wave so they can get the green light for their promised 'independent appeals procedure' in the Autumn and then use it to hoodwink the frustratingly-credulous (daft?) British Public that their fake PCN is 'just like a real one'...:mad:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
