From my experience in looking at prices, they are always higher on Friday/Saturday/Sunday as this is when most people are around as a family to book.0

Funnily enough an email from Netflights has just appeared in my inbox advising me that BA's Worldwide Sale is now on!

Yes, it's their Post Olympics sale. Some very interesting prices are now available especially in Premium Economy.

We booked flights to Orlando in March with Thomson to fly out in April, we got a REALLY good deal and I did the same as you and our flight prices literally halved which would have saved us a total of around £2,200 for our party of 7, but hey, these things happen and we had a lovely time anyway, it would have been nice to have had the extra as spending money, and may have even stayed an extra week with the potential costs being that much lower.
I suppose you need to weigh up the risks of being able to get enough seats on the flights for the date you need, the closer you get, the cheaper they get. It's all well and good hanging on for a cheaper price as long as you can be flexible with your trave dates.
Hope you have a fab time anyway (sure you will).0 -

I need a flight out of Cairo and then one out of Geneva.
For my dates BA wants
£270 ex Cairo
£117 ex Geneva
Swiss want
£168 ex Cairo
Easyjet all in
£52 ex Geneva
Every now and again I just need a reminder as to why BA are usually an airline I never even consider.0 -

Well, I must say that BA are usually my airline for first choice. Mind you, I'm a silver card holder which give me extra benefits, but I'd still rather use them than most other airlines even if they are occasionally slightly more expensive. It depends on route and price difference though.0 -

You are not alone, many people have a preferred airline, for instance in the Arab World I always look to Air Arabia first and in Asia - The obvious.
Yet long haul I'm less bothered, I always fly economy and don't consider a flight less than 10 hours anything other than a minor inconvenience and so comfort and service etc isn't something I prioritise.
That said, I don't believe in Economy any product is much different from another. Particularly if you exclude Middle Eastern Airlines.
When booking a flight generally two things are key for me - Price and schedule. I think the importance of the latter is often overlooked and deemed insignificant. However I connect globally and often spend very little time in one place, time is of absolute importance and there is a huge difference between arriving somewhere at 7am and 2pm. Though it might seem quite unimportant to most.
The paint work on the plane and interior is really not significant to me at all. I am the passenger that gets on, reads his kindle, catches a movie on the Ipad and then is gone as soon as the plane has landed.0 -

My schedule is fixed, I can't help the date I need a flight.0 -

If by "The obvious" then you mean AirAsia then I'm with you 100%. A fantastic airline who could teach the likes of Ryanair and Easyjet a lot. Their only limitation is that they are a dry airline - but even I (who always likes to fly with G&T in hand) can cope with that for flights of an hour or two for less than £20.0 -

Absolutely, and Air Arabia completely emulate Air Asia in an almost identical fashion.
Two fantastic, cheap airlines. And it's not often you can say that these days!0
