Audi A4 HELL - Please help

I am having a few problems with my car at the moment, and someone suggested that I contact "Auto Express", for advice. I also wondered if anyone on here can help me.....
I bought an "Audi A4 DTM ON THE 2OTH April 2012 from a garage called "Silverlink", The garage specializes in high performance cars.
The car was registered in 2006, had 75,000 miles on it, and I paid £9,850 for it.I traded my "Seat Leon " in against it and took out a loan for the difference.I paid a years warranty with it.
On the 11th May 2012, I went on eleven days holiday,the vehicle was parked up and not used at all.
On 25th may 2012, problems began with the vehicle resulting in the vehicle being taken back to "Silverlink", for a coil to be replaced . This was not covered on the warranty.The coil pack had failed and burnt the connecting plug and wiring.
I had to pay £100,......bearing in mind, I had only purchased the vehicle on 20th April and it being off road for nearly two weeks.The cost of the warranty is £200.
I had fitted a "dump valve" to the vehicle, (a non performance enhancing part), which was heard and commented on by the sales manager "Ian", from whom I negotiated the original sale of the car with.He was fully aware that this was fitted and did not point out that this would void the warranty.
On Friday 22nd June, I was driving home when a low oil warning light came on.I pulled into the closest car parts store and checked the oil using the "dip stick", and saw that there was barely any oil in at all.I purchased the recommended oil (as recommended by the store)and topped it up , just below maximum level.
The vehicle appeared to be driving fine.I continued driving for approximately five to six miles, when I got an oil pressure light on the display . The vehicle did not respond any differently, but then after quarter of a mile, it flashed on again. I immediately pulled into the side of the road and switched off the engine.
I pressed the engine check button on the dash, which showed no faults, turned on the ignition. It started up as normal and ran ok, no warning lights etc. I pulled off but then immediately went into "limp mode", before coming to a complete stop.
I had to arrange to be towed home.
The next day, I rang "Silverlink", and informed them what had happened. I was advised to bring the vehicle down for it to be inspected.
On Sunday 24th June, I was again towed and taken to the garage where I was given a courtesy car and told that the vehicle would be inspected the following day.
On Monday 25th June , I recieved a phone call from "Silverlink", saying that they wouldn't be inspecting the vehicle as I had fitted a "dump valve", and this voided the warranty..
I argued that the "dump valve", would not have had any affect or contributed to the fault with the oil, and even offered to go to the garage and remove it.
I hadnt realised that fitting a "dump valve",would invalidate the warranty, even though, the sales manager was fully aware that I had fitted one..
Anyhow,on speaking to my partner about the situation, she also spoke to the garage, but matters were not resolved, resulting in a few heated exchanges.(which hasnt helped)
I was advised to return the courtesy car and collect my car.
I later returned with my father and was advised from the garage that the only way to proceed with this was to involve an independent inspector from the warranty company. The garage also stated that there was too much oil in the vehicle, but I pointed out to them that I heve done what any person would have done under the circumstances when the oil warning light comes on and topped it up.I was again towed away from the garage without any way forward.
Can you give any advice on this matter , or forward this onto someone who can?.
1) I appreciate that any modification to the car will void the warranty , but didn't realise this at the time, and again, the garage is in full knowledge that I had fitted a dump valve
2) I have not , as yet , had the problem identifed but believe that it is a major and costly job involving the oil pump and oil pressure.
3)I also believe that the problem was in existence when I purchased the vehicle from "Silverlink", and that the "dump valve ", has not had anything to do with it.
4)If the vehicle had been serviced prior to the sale and clean oil had been put in, this may have prevented this problem occurring. Ihave only had the car since 20th April and done approx. 1,000 miles.
Can you offer any advice regarding this situation ? as it is, my vehicle is off the road, I have no car, the problem has not yet been identied and I am facing a costly repair bill which I believe that the garage should be paying..

Do you have any documents relating to the warranty and if so have you read them yourself to check what is & isn't included?
You also have rights under the sale of goods act as long as the modification is not connected to the fault0 -
Have been in touch with so called warranty company, they say that i will have to go to a local garage and get the car stripped at my own cost, at that point they will send an assessor who will decide if the warranty will pay out.
Also in touch with Trading Standards / Citizen advice....
Think the garage responsible shout be the one to pay for the fault to be found.....0 -

Unfortunately by fitting this dump valve you've made it easy for them to put the blame onto you.
I'd suggest speaking with trading standards. They will be able to advise whether the garage should be paying for the repair (or refunding you the purchase price of the car).0 -
I think Trading Standards are your best bet here. You need to try to get the garage to fix under the Sale of Goods Act - faults within six months are deemed to have been there at the the point of sale etc although wear and tear will be taken into account.
The coil is not a shock, all the 1.8 turbo cars from VAG have problems with these but the oil pump is a problem.
Seriously, focus on the garage as they've possibly scamped you for a warrenty that covers nothing and has a max claim value of £500 so won't cover the costs at all.
From what you've said so far, that would seem to be the case. Who is the warranty with?

The warranty is with a company called Warranties 2000... As i am an new user i cannot post the link but its waranties200 co uk . Cheers0

A quick search on the web says not a great company.

anyone looking at a warranty needs to ask what it does acctually cover and what the value of any claim might be limited to. Very important that one as we had a Ford dealer stuck for words when I pointed out his great warranty only had a £1000 limit so all his promises about a failed engine being replaced were all hot air as it would far exceed the pay out!

The 1.8 coil pack is a 3-5000 mile thing and plagues all VAG 1.8 turbo engines.
Fitting a Dump Valve was not the best idea as the Turbo comes to a sudden halt, if they were anything other than a gimmick they would be fitted from new.
This could also be effecting the emissions and be throwing the light of doom.
A independent VW garage will advise the oil pump be replaced at 50,000, so it has done well to get to 70,000 .Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
just to let u know my car is a 2 l turbo a4 not a 1.8 turbo.... but i understand that the coil packs have the same problem. The dump valve on this car is soliniod controlled and works the same as a sandard item. thanks for all replies0
