Thanks Roz, it's an excellent point. I think I'll see what this dress is like, but will probably go and look in some bridal shops too (probably shouldn't deprive my mum of te experience either!)

An ex sample shop sounds good.. Will see if there are any near me. Didn't know such a thing existed. do you know if they do a range of sizes? Am a size 14 (dreaming of/trying to be a size 12 by next year, but not sure that'll ever happen!)

Yea Faerie Spangles, this is my thinking.. I will have some money in the kitty to customise it, and as it's shorter I think some seriously fabulous shoes will be in order.. And I'm much more likely to wear those again :-)

It's a really pretty dress and I agree with Jenhug, if you feel like a bride in it then it's your dress. I certainly think it looks wedding-y enough, but would maybe suit a more relaxed 'do (in my opinion).

Don't worry about the price, no one will know- unless you tell them! I bought a second hand Monsoon dress from Ebay for £14 (incl postage) and it gave me that 'oooh' bride-y moment. Cost means nothing compared to how it makes you feel.

    Hi everyone,

I am getting married to my lovely H2B in July 2013. I've been looking at this board since we got engaged in March, but this is my first post...

I was looking online today (read another thread about a bridesmaid dress from BHS), and while I was looking at that dress on the BHS website, I saw another bridesmaids dress which is exactly what am looking for for my actual wedding dress! :)

Anyway, I ended up buying it! It was £70... I can't put a link as I'm a new user, but it's the BHS Beatrice ivory lace bridesmaids dress if you are inclined to google it!

It's very MSE! But what do you think? Will it be wedding-dressy enough?! And is it really the case that I could end up just spending £70 on my wedding dress?!! Anyway, am waiting for it to arrive so will see how it is. Just thought I'd see what you think...

Link here for you ( saves everyone looking for it!)

Unless you go for a 'mini bride', then it's probably fine to have you both in white...! So far this has been my fianc!'s only suggestion towards wedding plans.. I clearly have my work cut out!

Ps. No offence to anyone who is actually planning on having a mini bride :-)

The one I went to had everything from 6-20 (High St sizes, not Wedding sizes which are smaller)
