Best excuse for non-paying

Have asked a buyer when they intend to pay for item and was told that "mail from Blackpool has a weeks delay before it is sent out and people should know this and have some patience"

Should I seriously consider blocking all buyers from Blackpool, lol

If you do get the cheque email him and say 'items from me have two weeks delay (three if you pay by cheque), buyers should know this and have some patience'

Okay so not very grown up but I'd be tempted.

Ebay really does never cease to amaze me.

lol Rev, thats in addition to the ten days for the cheque to clear. At this rate I could string this out for a couple of months.

Someone won an item i was selling last year on ebay and then when i invoiced them they replied by saying that they couldnt remember placing the bid and were sorry.

They then explained that during the week their child aged about 4 ( i remember as the child was similar age to mine) had been playing on the laptop and placed a few bids/bought items on ebay and they apoligised for my inconvience, and explained that other sellers were fine with it and had be understanding and let her off payment.

I remember thinking that i didnt let my iccle 1 on my computer at that age and even now i am sat next to him at all times and never have ebay or similar sites open while he is playing games ect.

It was only for a few pounds and as i was still fairly newish i spent ages searching help/advise ect on ebay site, and i emailed her and explained that i would have to file a dispute so as to re-sell item.

I remember she emailed me quite a lot trying different things/excuses to get out of paying for it. What stands out the most is they even asked for my bank account details so they could put the money into my account - I was very wary throughout whole process.

    Eventually she sent a cheque.

Thought i would share this with you.

To me that stands out as an uncommon buyer who wants to pay by bank transfer - which is quick, extremely safe for sellers, and free!

I'd have bitten her hand off ;)

And when you think about it... to place a bid, said child prodigy has to click bid now, enter the amount, and click confirm bid. And to do that repeatedly...? Well done for getting your dosh from that muppet :)

B*llocks! I live 5 miles North of Blackpool and can tell you that, 99% of the time, items that I send arrive the next day.
