Children cinema question..

I'll fall asleep in the cinema, no problem. Took me 6 times to see the Simpsons movie and in the end my friend sent me a text when it was on tv so I could place what happens in between the beginning titles and the end credits.

I'll easily fall asleep watching tv, have fallen asleep in the pub before now much to my friends amusement (still clutching my glass firmly) fall asleep in the garden when we're round the firepit, fall asleep on bus journeys that last 10 minutes
I get a good 8+ hours sleep nightly and my job isn't that active so I can't work out why my body seems to require to go offline so often!0 -

I often take the children to the cheap weekend morning showings purely to grab a quick nap!!! Feel quite annoyed if the children's film happens to be really good and I get drawn in, therefore missing out on forty winks. My girls do get a bit embarrassed tho!!!!0

I regularly fall asleep in the cinema, and we've got one of those DVD rentals by post things that we really get our moneysworth out of (we regularly go to bed early to watch a DVD) and I'm forever zonking out in the first 30 minutes of whatever rubbish my husband's added to the rental queue that week (the worst recently being some tosh about ancient Egyptian gods coming to Earth in spaceship pyramids once every few hundred years to procreate or something like that... or the spaceman and vikings thing - if its rubbish, vaguely mythological, ideally containing dragons - he'll rent it).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

DS is my cinema buddy as OH hates the cinema. DS is 12 now and the movies he likes now are excellent ( Iron Man, The Avengers ). I hope it's a little ritual we can keep up for as long as he can bear to be seen with his Mum

My son is 21 and we still regularly go to the cinema together

I have fallen asleep in the cinema before! I will stay awake if the film is interesting enough to keep me awake.
I can remember falling asleep during one of the Batman films, The Matrix, Avatar (not at the cinema thank god, wouldn't have wasted my money, as it's !!!!!). I've attempted to watch Pulp Fiction about 4 times over the years and have fallen asleep each time!
Most of the films with the kids, I've managed to stay awake and have enjoyed. I did fall asleep during Cars 2, as I found it so boring. My 8 year old had to keep on nudging me!

100% agree with the poster who said it's the cosy, dark environment that does it.
In my case it seems to be totally unrelated to the film, which is particularly annoying because it happens even when I'm really enjoying it and even when it's scary. I've fallen asleep in The Silence of the Lambs and even the re-release of The Exorcist (the friends who came with me couldn't get to sleep when they went home to bed afterwards; I dropped off even in the cinema!).
At home I take the precaution of simultaneously recording anything I really want to see while I watch it on TV. The waste of money in the cinema is infuriating but I just can't fight it!Life is mainly froth and bubble

When I was about 18, I went to the cinema for an all-nighter. They were showing five movies starting at 11pm and I only saw one of them - Flash Gordon (I don't think I even got to the end of it!). It was a surreal experience coming out the cinema at 7.30am! Weird.
I'm well known for falling asleep at parties and nights out. Either in the loo or I go for a lie down and don't bother telling anybody where I've gone - cue call for a search party. Not the first time I've been woken up by a bouncer trying to go home.
