Decided against that though, and set up my own company to beat them at their own game. It was then I discovered just how damaging maternity leave can be to a business's finances.

So now you play the same !!!!!! game. I hope it comes back to haunt you.

I worked for a small charity that somehow managed to treat its female employees well when they went on mat leave, if they can do it anyone can, but making excuses leaves more profit for you I suppose.

No, I'm not saying that its acceptable, just that it does happen and sometimes its necessary for businesses to make those decisions.

So you are yourself engaging in non-acceptable practices.

    Not so lovely joolz, eh?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Well fortunately for my well paid staff, it hasn't yet. It's not a 'game'. It's survival.

Sorry, but that's a ludicrous thing to say! Charities are a totally different business model and can't be compared here. How many of those women on maternity were part time or voluntary? And how many were on 6 figure salaries?

None and none (why would a volunteer need to go on maternity leave :rotfl:)

If you're pulling in enough to pay six figure salaries you've no excuse really.

I'm pulling up those figures because they are there, at work, generating the turnover that gives those results. If they are off on maternity, that turnover wont be generated.
