Still using (well, mostly) up everything from the freezer. My children are loving the meal plans too, i have a white board in the kitchen i write what we will be eating that week, and they love to see in advance (and make suggestions for the next week too!!!). I make everything from scratch as well, havnt needed to use a packet mix or anything like that for months now, which is great!!!0 -

Hi there everyone - I have done a storecupboard check and topped up at Tescos for the following meal planner for the week - spent over £34 at Tescos though so that needs trimming down next week as there are only 2 of us. Im trying to get back into meal planning because it has gone by the wayside lately and I have slipped into bad habits again  shouldnt need to do any more shopping other than milk & grapes so here goes......
Sunday - Chicken dinner with yorkies
Monday - left over chicken curry with rice
Tuesday - Spag bog made with Quorn + HM garlic bread
Wednesday - Quorn chilli con carni + rice
Thursday - Veggie burgers, beans & chips
Friday - HM veggie Lasagne + HM garlic bread
Saturday - 5 Bean stew
will also be making some HM soup for lunches ( DD has school lunches ) also have tuna for sandwiches. Breakfasts are porridge for me and COCO pops for DD ( I give up ). Other than that we have just made some flapjack ( disaster - but tastes nice ) and have a jelly setting in the fridge as well as a pack of angel delight for 1 night. Got some bananas to make smoothies with frozen fruit in the freezer to top up our 5 a day.
Have a good week:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Here is my menu for the coming week. OH and I have decided that the following week is going to be entirely storecupboard and freezer in an attempt to reduce our supermarket bill.
Monday - leftover HM venison stew with potatoes and half a roast squash
Tuesday - HM dhal (from the freezer, it was made last week)
Wednesday - steak, potatoes and roast veg
Thursday - HM lemon and ginger chicken with couscous
Friday - HM chickpea pasta soup
Sat - out at friends!0 -
How sad - am beginning to look forward to coming on here & posting!
Sun - gammon hock, (£1.39 Morrisons, cooked in slow cooker so made soup at same time. Gorgeous! How cheap! Am starting to hyperventilate with excitement!) roast pots & veg (carrots, cabbage, swede, leeks)
Mon - Stew & dough balls from freezer, veg (def swede & cabbage, DK what else)
Tues - Pork & mustard casserole from freezer, any veg left or more bought.
Weds - steak pie (not HM) from freezer, roast pots & veg
Thurs - staying with friend
Fri - usual Fri night freezer surprise, probably curry and pitta breads
Sat - DK, maybe takeaway
Bfast smoothie, lunch HM ham soup (will remember to buy lentils & split peas next week, used rice this week) and salad with left over ham, or pasta salad or maybe gammon rissotto.
Since starting to do this my freezer is starting to empty, rather than sitting there like a piece of modern art while I buy all fresh, dear stuff from the supermarket! Will soon be room to store gammon hocks so I never run out! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have also come a cross a strange phenomenon of money in purse at the end of the week :j :j :j
Thanks for the inspiration folks.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
