Hi guys,
I wear my engagement ring and my wedding ring on the same finger and they both have stones - which means that they keep the dirt, sweat etc below them and in the holes which are below the stones IYKWIM. And then once in a while I get rash and have to take them off and wait until it heals (at least I think that is the reason).
What is the OS way of cleaning gold? I am hoping for something miracle like Bicarb with kitchen foil that lifts all the dirt from silver without you having to do anything:D Girl can hope, hey:D0 -
I just leave mine to soak in cola and then use a soft toothbrush to get into all the nooks and crannies.

I was going to suggest the same - soak in cola.
Unsure about Bicarb - gold is quite a soft medal and I would be concerned that teh bicarb may eat away at it..0 -
Thanks, I try cola. Blond question - I have Coke Zero... does it make any difference?
Pebi - I wasn't going to use Bicarb on gold, I use it on silver - that was an example.0 -
I usesd to work in a jewellers and we regularly had to clean all the stock, we used hot water and washing up liquid along with a a soft toothbrush as mentioned above0

Any type of cola will be fine

Fag ash & spit,an old soldiers way of polishing brass & other metals, used to use this wayyyy back during my basic training & it worked a treat!0

I use white toothpaste and a baby toothbrush on ALL my jewellery except for pearls and opals. then rinse thoroughly and dry with either a cloth or kitchen roll.
it brings it up sparkly (and just as good as a professional clean), it works on gold, silver and most stones - diamond, moissanite, sapphire, ruby and emeralds. even costume jewellery!0
