I've used a dab of Pearl drops tooth polish on an old electric toothbrush before now. works a treat provided the setting is sound. i now have an electronic cleaning machine for my jewelery. if you ever go on holiday to the caribean, the jewellers there will clean a piece of jewellry for free while you're in the shop looking for more.0

If you have a Goldsmiths jewellers close by, pop in. They will clean it professionally free of charge, irrespective of where you bought it or how much it cost and it will look fabulous. They will also treat you like a princess! I did this recently with the ring which my husband bought me 20 years ago as penniless students. It wasn't expensive, but they treated it as though it was the crown jewels and didn't charge me a penny for it. I also got to browse their £1,000 jewellery while they did it, and dream!0

Another thing that will work is neat washing up liquid. I put it in an eggcup - that's just enough to cover the ring & not waste too much of the stuff. Leave it for an hour or so & if there is gunge stuck round the diamond, then very gently remove it with a toothbrush.
I used to sell gold & silver jewellery by party plan, & that worked better than the jewellery cleaner we used to sell. Also it was ok for opals etc which mustn't go in jewellery cleaner.0 -
I popped my diamond & white gold ring in a ramekin of vodka today and it is now nice and sparkling like new!

Toothbrush with gin everytime, or you can fork out for a jewelery cleaner which is just an agitator (what jewellers use) that dislodges the muck by vibration. Me stick to the gin, but don't drink it afterwards you would be amazed how much mck comes out of a diamond ring!!0

The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -
I tend to use a little fairy liquid and water in a ramekin and a paintbrush/makeup brush to clean my engagement ring and it comes up a treat!0

We have an older thread with an almost identical titleEdit - and what do you know - you were the OP :rotfl:
I'll add your question to that one to keep all suggestions together.

Put a drop of gin to an egg cup - drop the ring in to soak for a little while, brush with soft toothbrush and you are left with a nice clean ring and very sparkly diamond.0
