Everywhere in Devon is nice but then again I'm biased....(-:

Does anyone know, do I have to elect 5 different dates? My OH works shifts so we may not have 5 dates that are possible. I don't want to go through all the hassle of collecting tokens, selecting dates (hard work for us to match these up together when we are free) etc etc - only to have the application poo poo'ed by the SUN just because we are busy working!

I realise this will give us less chance of getting a holiday at all - but what's the point in listing dates if you aren't going to actually use them!

Has anyone applied in the past and got nothing? I last did a SUN holiday about 10 years ago.....

Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

    no you don't HAVE to
i've put down 1 date and 2 parks before and got something ....

However the SUN holidays are soooooo popular these days ( with more and more peple able to book online with a priority code) and people are finding they aren't getting anything ( cheque will be returned in this case)

so the more parks / dates you put down the bigger your chances ,but school holidays you will struggle to get

hi, if I remember rightly you pay for the intial booking fee (£38 + 1.50 card fee?) you will get an invoice of all the other extras : service charge, linen, entertainment passes and food. Passes and food will be for 4 people, you can pay online or phone them to say that you only require 2 x passes and food. They will revise your balance and you can pay over the phone. I don't think they'll charge a baby. Another confirmation will be sent to you to say that the balance is fully paid.

Thanks for your reply. Prior to posting i emailed The Sun to ask about the meal package and they have said that as the holiday is based on 4 sharing the cost x4 applies to all aspects of the of the holiday.
I am not sure what to do now.
Also, when booking online, do you get confirmation of your choice then or is it the same as sending by post, where you have to wait and see what you get?

You know straight away if you can get the holiday of your choice.
Re the meal package, you don't have to take up the meals for any of you? (They do work out quite expensive in my opinion when you can cook cheaply). Good luck.

I have never been on one before but want to this time. It will be just 2 adults and a 6 m.o. baby. i know you have to pay for a minimum of 4 which is no problem, however we are looking to go on a half board holiday (preferably Butlins) do you still have to pay for a minimum 4 people for half board or just the number going? If so, could we just book the accomodation and buy the food court package when we get there?

Butlins Skegness has plenty of places to eat on site, our last holiday there was a competition win where meals were included BUT you don't get given a choice of restaraunt when choosing meal plans & you have to go to the same place EVERY day so personally if I were going again I would choose self catering but just choose where I want to eat each day myself ITMS???
2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,

Have to admit, I'm really put off collecting the tokens now, I don't read the paper, it's such trash....well I may have taken a peek at the Katie and Tom split..... If everyone who had booked a SUN holiday before gets a priortiy booking code, then what is going to be left?? It's costing me a fiver to collect the papers....Hmmm
