Really? Cursory search on ebay shows most in that price range are older and or 100k+ miles.

OP do you have the number plate of the hit and run vehicle? If so you can trace it and if uninsured go thru MIB...

    Scroll down to reliability....

Seriously these are not worth it,you might get a good one but its not worth the gamble, its quite well known they are a nightmare. So many better cars out there-Focus,Fiesta,Fabia etc.

Thanks for your input, the peugeot 307 1.6hdi was the 1st one i test drove and i say it was ok, The 206 i test drove straight after and my husband said straight away you are more comfortable driving this arnt you? i said yes it did feel nice but i could have another test drive in the 307 and see how i got on, considering the accident was only yesterday im still very dubious.
Do you think the price is good?

I don't know much about cars! I saw a Pug. 307 1.6 hdi-2005reg, 37k miles for about £5500. Thought it was expensive-but it sold quickly.
I've only driven the 207 as courtesy cars and preferred the 307 (but had driven 130k miles in one!)
If my choice was only between these two cars-then it would be the 307 ( BUT I need a larger car than the 207 anyway)
I'm sorry-this probably dosen't help you at all! Really, all I can say is that I drove a Pug. 307 diesel for eight years and it was excellent.

I didn't say that the cost to buy would be £1.5k, I just think these 8-12 year old cars are overpriced.

You can still get a new Panda for less than £6k!

To be fair, if they were overpriced, they wouldn't sell for that price. But they do. They probably sell because they either get "oh, it's french, buy a fiesta" then someone who realises it's lasted nearly ten years already, it's good for another ten, the diesel engines will motor on forever, (the petrols aren't too bad but I'd go for a french diesel every time though) snaps them up.

Totally agree,3.5 is absolutely bonkers when you can buy the Focus equivalent for around 2k and is a better car by far.
