Strong painkillers

Princessdon I agree with you to a degree. I always felt better working, unfortunately, I'm just not fit to at the moment. I've been placed in WRAG, which I think is correct for my condition(s). I may be able to work by the time my next medical comes, I doubt it though as things are getting worse.
The thing is, the OP mentioned OA and obesity. There are very few comments on the OA, only the obesity. I was on the same painkillers when I was working. They didn't make me tired, combine them with the amitriptyline and they are knock out. But remember drugs affect everyone differently. If they hadn't mentioned obesity, do you think the responses would have been the same?
If she was a stick insect suffering from OA would she have received the same criticism? I doubt it.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I know they affect differently - as I said basic hay fever meds make me zonk - so much that I never get behind the wheel of a car on those days.0

My Son took Tramadol for a while and had terrible nightmares. He felt weird all the time becauseof lack of sleep so had to stop taking them.
I too am a skinny but feel very sorry for anyone addicted to anything; food included!0 -
OP i suggest you read the descriptors for the support group.
atos DWP do not care for MH such as agoraphobia, you either attend or you dont and you get sanctioned if you dont, what you can do is call ahead and tell them you need to be in a quiet room on your own or with a friend family member to limit the anxiety.
side affects can be taken into account in certain terms. but you must make it plain in relation to a descriptor, such as concerntration, i.e Q.can you read a book watch tv, A. no i get so drowsy due to meds, i cant concerntrate for long, and the weight of the book in my hand even rested hurts my wrists and i get severe pain in my wrists wich lasts all day even when taking meds, i do have the tv on, but because i'm lonely and have noone to talk to its just background noise to make me feel at ease and not depressed sat in quietness.0 -

I've been in crutches 10 yrs, permantely disabled, (Gp + consultants), according to atos, i'll make a full recocery in 12 months! x
Just go with the flow,xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
i cant begin to imagine what it's like to live with pain. my mum has fibtomyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, and u know how much it impacts in her.
i am registered vling, there is no way on earth that i will suddenly be able to see any better than i can now( my sight is crap, i dont recognise people i know well from more than 2 feet away) i do appreciate what little i have though. i got an ESA50 this week. I accept that the state provides me with funds that enable me to live and in return they want me to do certain things.
is it nice? no it isnt.
but at the same time i dint feel i have the right to complain.
if i lived in another place, possibly id have to beg to survive.
i'm grateful that i live in a society that accepts that i have a right to a standard of living. i am housed and have warmth and food.
of course we would all like to have a bit more than we have, buy im happy to be part of a society where no one is left to starve

I can't drive or use public transport, the government pays for a taxi to take me and pick me up from work and I pay the cost of a zone card towards it.
The disability advisor at the job centre will know about schemes like this.0 -
That's great Glaswejen. Would that stop her falling asleep around lunchtime though? I know that's my danger time, actually hitting me earlier today as I've been awake since 6, jfhjing shoulder!!!! Can feel the eyes starting to go as I type this.
If she's placed in the WRAG no doubt she'll find out about schemes like that.
Although maybe not, the only thing WRAG has offered me, is a couple of courses that were about to finish, and 6 sessions of Bowen Therapy. Not complaining about the Bowen Therapy btw, it's very nice, but do feel it's a waste of tax payers money. It helps for the rest of that day and maybe a bit of the next day, but I don't feel it's a long term help thing.
Or maybe I've not been told about schemes like that because I'm not quite there yet. I would love to get back to work, really I would, although I've been so busy with my daughter and hospital appointments lately I don't know where I found the time to work before I was retired.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
The scheme is called Access to Work, it's administered by the job centre but you need support from a doctor to be eligible for the taxi service.
I know there are many a time I wanted to fall asleep at lunch but I've got a store to run and a bunch of staff to worry about so it's just not possible. Surely if you know you'll be tired in the afternoon you should concentrate on morning jobs?0
