I can't say I could always do it but I purchased something I never ever done before but they were four for £1 and with other items I can get four meals from one box, I may hate them "Mr Brain's Faggotts:pand half price my first Venison product.
Today I could have had any amount but only purchased two a kind of bacon steak(two in each package)worth £1.80 selling at 52p so if I eat one that makes them only 26p each. But I have saved £2.56.
Whilst rearranging my freezer my Christmas Tuikey has frozen and managed to wedge itself to the shape of the grill shelf it is on and I cannot shift it and it is not in a removable draw but a compartment but as the fridge/freezer is full I cannot switch it off and defrost for one item...it is going to be fun trying to attempt to free it...
My only option may be to use up absolutely everything and empty the whole appliance and start from scratch again but that may mean no turkey for christmas...which was why I got it in the first place."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. A little off topic but I love Mr Brain's Faggots! Haven't had them in ages though - my parents and brother helped themselves to the last four boxes I bought without telling me!************************************

I find the idea of not having a store cupboard quite worrying actually!:o I like the thought of being able to throw a meal together anytime and as I dont drive its easier to get lots of stuff delivered once a month then just buy fresh things and extras weekly.
I wish I had more space TBH. I have one cupboard for dried/tinned (so pasta, rice, beans, noodles, tomatoes, etc), one cupboard for baking (all my flour, nuts, seeds, choc drops, etc) then a shelf for condiments and seasoning!:D
Even my freezer is arranged for cooking purposes! Bottom shelf for meat/fish/quorn, top shelf for veg/marg/cheese/herbs/fruit. The middle shelf has to contain all my batch meals, bread, milk, cakes, etc. Id really like a third freezer so I could have more stuff ready prepared.:(
Ironically though my fridge is a disaster area! Things always pass their sell by date and go mouldy, I buy stuff I never eat and most of it is empty.0 -

What have I been missing, perhaps I'm in for a treat.:)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I quite understand that statement but I often eat things a day or two over and use commonsense. Often items are unlikey to go off as soon as they hit the date on the packaging...but yes I do sometimes have to throw items out because I eat less/have smaller portions...
My problem is getting through salad items mainly..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I'm running my stocks right down and I have to say I'm extremely nervous about doing it in the winter. We're downsizing quite considerably so I need to be more clever with storage and prioritise what to store more of, not just store more of everything.0

I solved this problem by growing my own salad and eating things in season!:D Nothing goes off if its still growing in the garden but you do have to fight the slugs for it!LOL0 -
