I see this has been answered. Will look out for that in Lidl in the future. I would highly recommend the Nicky elite, they have a beautiful smell and are really thick and sell for £4 for 18

I get these from home bargains they are lovely quilted ones.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I am surprised that so many people do not have a store of food. When bad weather is forecast and people rush out to buy a trolley load of bread etc I am always amazed that they don't have food in the house.

I always have things like flour, pasta, noodles, rice, chickpeas, various nuts and beans, currants, raisins, dried apricots, suet, tinned tomatoes, baked beans, sauces, stock cubes, tinned peas, tinned fruit, jams, honey, marmalade, peanut butter in the cupboards and bread, milk, frozen veg in the freezer. If I got snowed in or something it would be quite a while before I ran out of food. I may be eating some strange meals by the end but I would be eating something.

Also I would always be able to make bread and defrost milk and they seem to be the things people panic buy if they think something is going to happen

I'm stopping now... it may look like a lot but it is all basics like tinned toms, pasta, soups etc.
Feel a lot safer if oh doesn't have a job after christmas.
If i don't curb it now, i'm afraid i may have to boot one of the kids out their bedrooms for another store room, it's quite addictive!
To be fare it cost next to nothing using approved foods and buy one get one frees.
One down side...my loaded parents seem to pilfer things out every time they visit!
Oh and downside #2 the store room is down stairs between the kitchen and 14 yr old sons bedroom.....things of a sweet nature seem to mysteriously go missing in the night!
I will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!

    Total £56

    :j Excellent storage, heavenleigh.

And I agree about peace of mind and security; if it doesn't do anyone else any harm, and it helps make you feel safe, go for it.

PS if I had sweet things in my storecupboard I'd be nicking them from myself...............:p

    I know some people mock

They won't be mocking when you don't have to rush out in snow and ice to pick up a basic item, and they've got nothing in :D

It's on my 'to do' list today to sort out my stores and list them to see what else I need to get in. I've started putting my bread flour in the freezer, and I know I've got another half a dozen in my stores, so they'll be going into the freezer too. That will then free up some more space to buy other tinned things :D
