Jars and bottles can go in fridge and stay there fine. Oil might go a bit cloudy but a good shake and it will be fine.

Tes*o have in the World Foods aisle 5kg sacks of Tilda Basmati Rice for £5.00p. Good value at that price Cheers Lyn. Oops just taken it to the store and realised it's Mr.T's own brand - but still OK I think for that price.

The BB date is end of August but if that doesn't bother you they are selling tinned tomatoes for 10p! Well, they were in my local branch...

    Xmas Saver!

So the children have gone back to school, and I have started my Christmas Store Cupboard.

When I do my Christmas shop in Dec I want to be buying nice things, not toothpaste, beans and toilet rolls.
So every week from now until then, I buy a couple of bits to put away. I try to get things that are on offer that week, or a couple of extra tins etc.

    Today I got-

Persil washing up liquid (on offer Morrisons 50p)
2 Jars of Sweet and Sour Sauce (Morrisons 27p each)

not much but it's a start.

Will add to the list as I go.

Please feel free to start your own list :T

    I've got Mincemeat so far.

I buy £2 of saving stamps every week, so that we can buy that sort of stuff in Dec. It is not often we can put just what we like in the trolley . Chocs and Mincemeat are on our treat shopping list.:j:j

I have started a stock cupboard of sorts I am trying to always have at least one of everything that we use to hand, that way I wont run out of anything and have to pop to the shops for one thing and end up spending £20 on a load of stuff I don't need.

I even picked up a Christmas pudding dated Feb 13 for 25p in the co-op along with a jar or cranberry sauce for 10p again dated into next year so christmas buying is officially underway.

    Hi Own My Own,

As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to our current one on building up your storecupboard where you'll pick up lots of moneysaving advice.
