  • The downside to using the bookcases is the books now live in giant Ikea bags.......

The few times I have mentioned having a store cupboard I have yet to have a negative or a reaction of ridicule, the opposite is true. I think the trick is to approach the subject by using the idea you are doing it to avoid shopping so often and to try and save the rise in prices so replace like with like plus it gives you much more variety.

  • If it wasn't for my stock cupboard this week would have been very very difficult. Due to the car insurance people who took out a wrong payment (and couldn't put the money back in, it had to be a cheque) the small amount of money I had left before payday was gone.

This week we have some great meals (if I do say so myself) including:
sausage, bacon and chorizo gocchi bake
lamb curry with rice and peas
    chicken and bacon pie

I haven't decided on the rest of the meals for the week yet, but I have no worries on how to feed a family of 4 (3 of which eat adult portions) until payday and it's all thanks to MSE and the old style forum.
