For long running incidents yes, most likely.
But for the odd few hours of having the water turned off, it's always good to have some in.
Once you've had no water, even for a few hours, you miss it !
You can only flush your loo ( and poo!) once with no water.
Just reading through this thread and this hit me in the face, the really hard winter of 2010 i had no water out of my taps for 6 WEEKS :eek::eek::eek:, i had bottles eveywhere which i filled up at clients houses after checking they were not on water meters, we had bowsers in the street but even these froze so were useless, its amazing how much water you use and take for granted!!Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -

A four bedroomed kitchen?;)
I<snip>
keep some long life milk in case of emergencies (tho thankfully I havent' had to use it but it means a couple of cartons are going to be chucked).

Long life milk is perfect for making homemade yogurt with, you don't need to pre-boil, just heat to incubation temperature and add in the starter culture, then leave to incubate in a wide-necked vacuum flask overnight. I never use fresh milk when making yogurt, just add the room temperature longlife into my electric yogurt maker and stir in the starter culture, then leave to incubate for a minimum of eight hours"Never argue with an idiot. I've just nipped into a Tesco. Their tinned baby carrots were 12p a tin on Thursday. They are now 18p for the same thing. 50% price hike in 3 days.......not good. Pots are still 19p a can so had a few more of those whilst I was at it.

Well, I better do something about that then;)I may have a look out tomorrow...as said elesewhere I better add a kettle for boiling on the camping stove...all mine are electric. Orginally, the plan was just to boil water in a pan:pfor tea/coffee or to transfer to a flask..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Pops, there's a very common type of stainless-steel stovetop kettle, flattish profile, fill through the spout, which lifts up with a button on the black plastic handle. Been around for years and pretty much foolproof. They turn up secondhand at bootfairs but they're not dear new. Try outdoorsy shops.
Or Argos£12.99 in the camping section of the site.
I have a dome-shaped stovetop kettle to use on my gas stove but in case of the gas being out, I have kept an old Russell Hobbs jug kettle in the cupboard. It's not good enough to give away as the white plastic is discoloured and the automatic switch doesn't turn off when boiled.
I think it's prudent to have a Plan B............HTH.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
