What's the thing with loo rolls? Don't tell me the loo roll manufacturers are going on strike too? (They wouldn't do that during the olympics surely!) I have 22, will that be enough? TIA
I know...I bought most of mine when there was more than one person living here. I have approx 50, do you think they'll last me for a while?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

My computer mag is featuring a store that sells everything at 99p and under but so far I haven't seen much in the way of savings especially for savers like us..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

If you haven't got a B&M (which I haven't - are they a Northern company?) then you can get good loo rolls in Iceland for £1 for 4. They are soft and strong and much better than any SM cheap loo rolls.

I got some (560g drained weight 360g) tins of potatoes in Aldi for 21p (I love the way they label at least you know how much of the product is water).Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I have can openers, knives, folks, spoons, mugs, cups, plates, bowls, bottle opener/corkscrew and some disposable cups, plates and bowls but now wonder if there is any point thinking of having what used to be called a swis army knife...
The disposable plates and bowls might be handy if you cannot wash or don't want to waste bottled water tryingto wash proper items...

Found B&M are selling a camping stove virtually the same as te one I have for £8.99 and te gas is £3.99 for four cannisters but again the cost of transport kills the savings...but very good bargains looking at their website...
It's been asked if they are a Northern company, I don't know but the website suggests that they do have branches in England, Wales and Scotland..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I always have a stock of food in. I know then that we have food in if money runs short. My moto is if all bills are paid and there is food in the cupboard then you have peace of mind.0

Totally agree snookey, we have been in some dire straights in the past 25 years, usually because of redundancy or a huge bill for car, house or even a bad winter fuel bill. I think that is why I will always have my safety blanket, because I have been there and never want to face what we had to when we first got married... 15% mortgage interest rate, recession and we both got made redundant within 3 months of each other, we were lucky we found other jobs quickly, but it still stays with me and I think that reading the signs things will go from bad to worse next year.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
