Nottobadyet, you would also have the problem I guess of more insects than here attacking your stores so in your case I think its understandable, also people there tend to live on a day to day basis - in parts anyway so if things went bang in W.E .I doubt it would be noticed to much in places there outside the cities. Can imagine the people would just carry on as they have done forever scratching a living as best they can from the land......

If you have a B&M near you they do a 3ply softie toilet roll that is soft and strong - my hubby approves and he has to have the softest yet strongest paper around, and most he usually moans are not strong enough, they are £1.99 for 9 rolls and have been that price past two years and I hope they stay the same for a long time to come epecially next few days as I totally forgot past few times we have been in we need more as only one pack left which is terrible............

Pops I have wind up lanterns dotted around the house - technically they are sold for the garden but are nice and bright and great for an emergency indoors so every room has one plus my wind up torches, radio, solar powered torches and radio and ordinary battery torches as I loathe sitting in dull light so want it as bright as possible especially during power cuts

I have tea lights, candles. Now this torch. Not seen a solar powdered torch before or the wind up laterns, May have to look into that...I have heard of a wind up radio before...

Again, the nearest B&M is in a neighbouring town...we have them all(Aldi, Lidle, Sainsbury's, ASDA, Morrisons, Poundland, Farmfoods)but all need a taxi/bus to reach.emo13.gif

Remember the other day when someone posted a link about the bug out bags on You Tube...

This site has some good stuff and not badly priced...and probably cheaper than what he was advertising/selling...

Had not come across that site before, thanks pop it has some really good things there....

We have had both our solar radio and solar radio with torch for many years - we just leave them on the study window ledge since it became study and whenever hubby wants to listen to a match on the radio he just uses the solar powered one and it has never packed in while he has been listening, cannot remember now how long the solar powered batteries last when charged up.

I have an over bed table which my laptop lives on with being in bed so much and clipped to one leg I have a bicycle lamp that uses normal batteries and has three very bright LEDs I have it there so I can easily reach a torch if power goes out and I need to get up during night. I do need to replace my rechargable batteries as they have all stopped holding power for more than a few minutes but then they are donkeys years old so think tomorrow will look out for charger and batteries......

I also have a cheap solar powered phone charger that lives on my bedroom window ledge which I take if going away anywhere as handy as its only very small and slim, doesn't give much charge but enough to make a few quick calls if need be. I do have charger also for car that plugs into cigarette lighter and if need be can charge kindle in it as well as both my phone and kindle have exact same fittings yet phone is a blackberry, most unusual to find same fitting on two different makes.

What's the thing with loo rolls? Don't tell me the loo roll manufacturers are going on strike too? (They wouldn't do that during the olympics surely!) I have 22, will that be enough? TIA :)
