Paid £9.99 to another site after I lost my EHIC.
They then sent me an e-mail saying I should call a number.
So they didn't apply anything for me.

Realised my mistake, and reported it to my credit card company.

They got my birthdate, and credit card information, which is a bit worrying.

Hi, my mum didn't realise it was free and ended up paying for a card. I can't see any option to apply for a refund - any advice?

Since nhs-direct.org.uk has only an email and premium phone number for contact on the web site I though I would add the site owners home address above in case you want to write to him,. I'm sure he's in the phone book too.

Another company charging.
They got me and my other half... and I still haven't had my card through. :(
www.eu-healthcard.com

I have emailed the address on my confirmation email
[email protected]

I'm hoping I get a positive result.

I recently applied for 4 Ehic cards, via the Nhs.org website, said that they are free, but charged me £8.95 processing fee, had an email to say that the money had been paid to a Mark Sloane at Moneybookers.com....How do i go about getting a refund?
the cards have not arrived yet

I paid eu-healthcard.com £9.99 for a replacement due to a moment of laziness. I actually have the previous EHIC letter on file, just couldn't be bothered to find it.
I did get an e-mail from eu-healthcard.com, telling me to call a number, which was the NHS.

Basically, they provided no service whatsoever, and did not apply for the EHIC replacement card. This is downright malicious, as people could be going on holiday without a EHIC card, becaue they didn't realise it's a scam in time and apply correctly.

Anyway, reported it to the credit card company, just hope they can at least withhold funds until the website disappears.

Anyway, reported them to the credit card company

Turns out the email address is for the NHS legit EHIC, and nothing to do with eu-healthcard.com :(
more investigating to do now!

update - I've been all over their website and I can't find any contact email other than the one above. If anyone does find a way, please let me and everyone else duped by them know. NB I've now read all the fine print and I'm thoroughly unimpressed at how it's layed out. Going back looking at it now I almost deserve to be duped as they do have all the disclaimers on there... if you are looking for them. :S

I sadly have been caught out by this. This site looked very official,I'm normally on the ball when it comes to scams such as this.:(
Charged £14.99 for something that could have been free, now looking further into their T & C's it does state it is a checking service.
No contact information other than an address in Belgium!!!
Think I'll just put this down to experience and be alot more careful in the future.

There is a God!

The credit company refunded my £9.99!

If I had used a Debit Card, I expect it would have been more difficult to get the money back.
