Spend money byuing a hobby, like two knitting needles and a ball of wall. Spend lunchtimes sitting on a wall in the car park knitting a scarf
Away from the computer, cheaper than going to the shops, and you can do it in the reception area if it's raining :rotfl:
Plus you can use said scarves as crimbo presents lol xCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -

With regard to the shopping, maybe you have found the solution. Buy something to fulfil your shopping desire, then take it back a couple of days later to keep your bank balance happy too :rotfl:
Easy peasy! Perfect solution!!:rotfl:

ha ha :rotfl: I love it!
Managed no-spend today too! Met my bro and SiL at a nearby cafe (had my sandwiches hidden under the table) and they bought me a coffee and bun
AND my bro gave me back half of what the coat cost me on Saturday, rest due on Friday, so again I made a profit!!
Should maybe turn this thread into a 'trying-to-stay-debt-free' diary....!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
I have the same problem
I have bookmarked about 10 blogs that I enjoy reading, so now spend my internet time reading those rather than shopping or searching for [STRIKE]very useful things[/STRIKE] things I don't need on eBay.
Of course catching up on here is good too! :money:Total Debt: £0 [STRIKE]£33,043[/STRIKE]

Absolutely!
Reading is good - managed the first 3+1/2 books of Twilight earlier this year!!!!(waiting on seeing the final flick before I read the last book)
...although I have to remember to type every now and again to make it look authentic! hee heeWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

I used to do a similar thing, I knitted OH a sweater as a surprise Xmas present.
If you can, think about what hobbies you have and if you could take them to work. I've heard of a few people who play guitar and take that in to practise in their lunch break. Gives them more time with the family as well.0 -
Walking round shops is not a hobby. Walking round shops is not a hobby. Walking round shops is not a hobby. Walking round shops is not a hobby. Walking round shops is not a hobby. Just had another thought, can you look and see if there are any mystery shops near you that you can do at lunchtimes? That means you get your shopping fix, a bit of a walk, but also get some cash for it. :beer:Total Debt: £0 [STRIKE]£33,043[/STRIKE]

Hmmmmm interesting. How would I find out what shops are involved?
EDIT:
Duh! I'm on the MSE website! Always a good place to start looking!! :rotfl:Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Can't you just leave your cash in your desk drawer when you go out at lunch time? As well as libraries you could investigate other public buildings such as museums or churches. Could you get changed and go for a jog?
Do you need ebay for work? If not you could put it on the blocked sites list for your computer. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

True! Leave the cash behind and literally just go for a walk
Can't jog/run the length of myself so that's out! Plus I walk to and from work and already have to change when I get to work....
Don't need it for work, no, so could do that. Have set paypal up so that I need my mobile at hand if I'm logging in or paying for something so it does make it that wee bit less accessible!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0
