Which insurance company are you with? I have never known NCB to go into minus figures? Usually you would just lose them and that would be it.0

ooh also, what about autoglass? don't they replace windscreens for free if you have fully comp insurance with most insurance companies? Might be worth a try?0

That totally depends on your insurance company.
OP have you asked your insurance company about repairing the windscreen alone? I had to replace mine in the winter thanks for an errant snowball. My insurance company didn't take my no claims off me, but I just couldn't claim another year for that year (iykwim). It was worth doing for the sake of not forking out for the windscreen.0 -
I'm with tesco insurance and it will cost £75 excess to replace the windscreen. All these "free" adverts are tosh.!
Yes tesco said my no claims would go back to zero then they take another 2 years off for the accident so would b -2!!?!
I will give the motoring board a go!thanks all!ADVISE-"I advise you get help"

Sorry in previous reply i had assumed that your husband crashed avoiding a collision with the horse, not having a collision with one. As others have said, he has been very lucky.
Sadly, the horse running away doesn't mean 'all' that much, as they have an impressive survival technique where the adrenaline that surges to help them flee prey can also block pain receptors very effectively, so could still have had a life threatening injury.
I hope that is not the case though, and i am glad your husband is ok.0 -

The adverts claim the repairs to be free, not a replacement screen.
Depending on the vehicle, the screen is likely to be important to the strength and structural integrity so it is worth having one fitted by a proper organisation such as Autoglass or RAC Autowindscreens.
If the car is only worth £600 then I would either find a friendly garage who will have a stab at bashing it out (depending on the position of the dent) or just living with it.0 -

Car is only worth £600 and the excess to claim is £250 also out no claims bonus would go from 7 years to -2!!!not worth it gonna scrap it!
Thanks for the advice
If you have phoned them they will have recorded the 'accident' - so you will have to declare it anyway.
Scrapping the car may not be the best route - following the process through and establishing blame may help you more.0
