    Why did you start another thread? Surely if you really wanted him the extra night you wouldn't be wasting months without taking any action

    I saddens me to read that the adults in this child's life are bickering over whether or not he can spend an extra night with his dad and this has to be dragged through the courts.

    As posted above, he may change his mind in six months time, why can't the parents behave like adults and go with the flow over one night a week?

    lepetit, it's not that we have had bad experiences with teenagers, we've had normal experiences with teenagers. At 13 this lad hasn't really got started yet, he's still more a child than a teen. And it has nothing to do with how good they are as children or how close you are to them as children, it's just part of growing up to have a couple of more difficult years as they struggle to re-work their relationships with everyone. Don't be too smug about him not going through his Kevin stage just yet...

    You didn't mention he was actually unhappy at his mothers. That is a different situation.
