Avoid using we buy books - this company is a scam .
See the 2015 reviews on Trustpilot - which are overwhelmingly negative.0 -
So are there any other alternatives for selling books? I have a lot of old uni textbooks for sale. To be honest they may be worth nothing but I at least want to see if I can get anything for them before giving to charity or recycling.
I'm not going down the ebay/amazon route. Don't have the time..0 -
Sent a pile of books just to test the water, two weeks and no response and when i called to inquire they say its in dispute, that there is staining on them and the price is reduced (on the most expensive items).
You can get your books returned of course.. for a price.. more than you'll ever recieve in the first place.. a scam.. no doubt this exist in the realms of cold calling and pay day lending. Glad i didn't send my whole collection. USE EBAY INSTEAD!!! :mad:0 -
They are crooks. Offered £37 but than claimed some books have damage and they can recycle them and send me peanuts for the rest. Asked for any photo evidence of the damage but refused. They could only send damaged books back £2.40 per book!!! That would mean the final price of my books would be £12!!!0

The threads 5 years old and the only positive comment appears to be a spam one.

I use WBB regularly, they pay really quickly, as do Ziffit who I also use regularly.
I usually scan everything via the app for both sites and divide them up according to who is offering the best price for each title but, as a general rule, Ziffit tend to accept some books that WBB don't want.
The only company I would never use again is Zapper who took two months to pay the last time I used them.
The prices you get are always going to be less than you could sell them for on eBay or Amazon, (if they sell), but I prefer to accept a little less and know that they are all sold rather than only sell a couple and have the rest hanging about, it probably all averages out in the end anyway.
The other bonus is the free postage and no returns or dealing with buyers.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
I want a giant FacePalm picture... Not surprised they get terrible reviews. What a nightmare to deal with.
My original email detailed they have sent me a book I have not ordered. I did order a book a few weeks back on Amazon and that arrived safely.
I have no orders outstanding.
They ask for the book title, thinking I had forgot to mention it, I reply back with the exact book title and ISBN for good measure.
They reply back saying my email was blank but with the all the email reply messages clearly visible in the email? So my message was blank yet they managed to reply to this blank message that had all the information? How does that work? Did someone not have training on howto scroll down?
Whilst sending another reply with the books title in large bold font, I thought lets check the original email and yes I did put all the books details down. Title and ISBN at the top of the original email along with the order number which is the only info I have on who may have originally ordered it.
So todays email. They are checking the warehouse to see where my order is. That will keep someone busy for a few hours because there is no order to find.
Although they did say keep the book or give it to a charity shop so that's where its going.
Cannot be bothered to try anymore. If they send you a book that you did not order just give it away. Don't bother trying to return it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Yes I have and will never use them again. I sent a couple of items that they said were not up to standard. I requested hey were returned and one looked like it had been in sormeone’s bin. I got no money and was charged return postage to get ripped off with a different item.0

They had stopped responding to my messages and Amazon refunded me.
I did wonder because it showed not eligible for A-Z protection?
Why do they make simple tasks so difficult? I could understand if i cancelled the order after they had posted it or with short notice. But they posted it several days later.
There is another book i found today and they were the only seller, thought oh god no. Not going to buy it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
