Funeral Costs for Baby Twins

Hi I have a question, me and my partner have lost our twins at 21 weeks pregnancy and The NHS hospital are paying for the funeral.

I need to know if there is any organisations in Walsall or West Midlands that can help with a grant of some kind towards a funeral car and flowers, I have applied for a bereavement payment and a funeral payment and both have been turned down.

Thanks for reading

I'm so sorry for your loss. Maybe SANDS might be able to point you in the right direction. They have lots of useful help and advice, and this is probably a question they've come across before.

    Thinking of you x.

These people might be able to help (or point you in the right direction of people that can help)

So sad for you and your partner.

Hope you get the help you are after. If not, whatever you manage to arrange for your little ones will be fine to show that they are loved. Perhaps family could club together for the flowers? I am sure people will want to help but may not know how. If there a good friend or relative that you could talk to? I don't mean asking for donations, just that there will be people who want to offer assistance but who will not want to upset you further.

I second the sugestion to contact SANDS. They may be able to advise you and could also offer other kinds of support which may be helpful to you. Also CAB may be able to offer advice.

I am very sorry for your loss and send my condolences to you and your family.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

So very sorry for your loss. I've PM'd you details of a charity that I found on a search on Turn2Us - didn't want to post in case they are only small and don't accept many requests

So sorry to hear of your loss.
I am in Scotland and when we lost our babies, the Co-op did the funeral and didn't charge for the basic funeral costs.
The lovely lady that we dealt with said that they do not charge for a child's funeral.
I hope that you have a Co-op near you, but possibly other funeral directors do the same.
Thinking of you both at this very sad time

So sorry for your loss. Xx

I went on a little course in a funeral home, it was American owned and l was told the funerals for under 16s were free. Have you approached any undertakers for advice?

    Happy moneysaving all.

I hope no one gets offended by this.

Is the car for family? In our culture we walk behind the hearse unless you're very elderly/sick or the route is long or dangerous. The walking actually helps a bit in a way, the first time I went in a funeral car I felt like i was missing out on sharing my grandads last journey with him.

Have you had a look at the route from the house to the service then service to the resting place? Is walking a viable option?

Obviously if you need a hearse for the children this is entirely different though I would imagine that would be part of a basic funeral.

With regard to flowers, local florists will sometimes do a payment plan in the circumstances. Do you have a proper independent local florist you can talk to?

You don't need all of the bells and whistles to have a funeral and don't feel like you're doing the children a disservice by not having these optional extras. The important bit is gathering the family and supporting their grieving parents through this.

So very sad to hear of your loss.

I've also heard that the CO-OP do not charge for funerals of children.

Can I also add that when the time is right, please consider counselling.

One of my close friends set up SANDS after she had lost her third baby. It's a fantastic service.

Take care of yourselves at this very difficult time.
