Threatened to call wardens - correct?

I suggest you find an alternative parking spot - you are clearly upsetting the complainant. If you continue to do so, he / she is likely to escalate the complaint.
That might not be via the police or wardens but by scratching a key down the side of your car or other physical damage to it.
Although you are within your rights to park there, that knowledge would not be adequate compensation for the cost of repairs.
There is a time to stand up for your rights, but there is also a time to do a risk assessment.0 -

Have to admit I have been tempted to do something similar with certain cars in my road...your post is a true word of warning.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Have to say I do not understand the temptation of wilfully and illegally damaging someone else's property.
I used to live next door a very busy communal centre and countless times I was either blocked in my own driveway or even people had the gall to actually park directly in my own off-street spaces!
If encountered in the act I let them have a piece of my mind. Eventually I put a very large clear sign in the porch window stating that the spaces were private and please do not block them. However, I never considered scratching their cars, or pouring glue on their windscreen etc (as suggested by various well-meaning friends).0 -

This did occur to me already. I actually did park elsewhere today. Notwithstanding that, spaces fill up very quickly in the area, so if on the odd occasion I am forced to park on that road, I will do so, thanks to you and the others in this thread, in the knowledge that I am breaking no law. So thanks.0 -
No one can stop you parking anywhere on a housing estate, or other public or private road if you want to providing you do it legally on the public roads. Having said that, they could always bump your car onto the pavement, across a drive, and get you towed if they wanted to. No damage to your property at all then.0

I'd just report you to the police for spying through the neighnours bedroom windows, then bounce you're car when you'd been taken in.0 -

Pet bugbear of mine - idiots who think they own the spot outside of their house. You pay your road tax, you have as much right to park there as they do. If they really want to have their own space, they should petition the local council for residents parking and then pay for the privilege.
As for those who advocate damage to a vehicle, I'd be saying to your note-writer 'you may know what I drive, but I know where you live'.0 -
Couple of quid to the dvla, and I'd know too though. And do you always attack the house you parked outside? A street like that, there would be a residents association to take care of day parkers if they need to. It wouldn't just be one house.fivegoldstars wrote: »+1
