Orange PAYG data charges
Options
I went on the internet for such a short time the other day on my phone, and while I knew it was expensive, I was re-assured by the £2 maximum daily charge that is on the Orange website.
So can anybody help explain the following?
The price guides are always changing too but I never seem to get communication of this.
So can anybody help explain the following?
- I was charged £4/MB despite the Price Guide saying 65p/MB as per http://www1.orange.co.uk/service_plans/payasyougo/payg_dolphin_costs.html
- I was charged a total of £4.60 despite the maximum daily charge being stated as £2 as per http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/484373/2

The charges are not global (across the network) but invariably Tariff dependant. Are you PAYG or contract, and if the latter, what tariff?0

Just to clear it up I am on Pay as You Go, and specifically Dolphin.
I couldn't get more angry at anybody than I do Orange Customer Services. They are the most incompetent customer services I have ever had to deal with.0 -
Just stop wasting your time on phone calls and follow their complaints procedure.0

Tried that in January got no where, because I had to speak to them :rotfl:
I bought a new phone in Dec, and wanted to transfer my old number on a phone which was stolen and blocked to the new sim card. It took more than 20 calls to get this done, 5 cut off when they didn't understand what I wanted them to do, 14 of them told me it would take 24 hours after the setting they had just made no matter how much I protested it never takes 24 hours, and 1 told me that nothing had been done, so she did it there and then, and told me it would be ready within 2 hours and it was. Shame that I got her after all the other calls.
I complained about how long it took, and also that I lost all my rewards when they forced me to top up £10 on the new sim before I could transfer my number, somebody phoned me about it and promised he would sort it, with the good old it wil be done in 24 hours promise, and it wasn't. I couldn't bring myself to speak to them, every email to their complaints results in a phone call.0 -
Well I phoned them, and was promised a refund within 48 hours. This call took 20 minutes.
48hours later? No refund, so I talk to them online, where I spoke to somebody useful (and English).
As it turns out, the 65p / MB, although in the price guide, has to be opted in to if when you joined it was a higher price, and therefore you still pay £4 / MB! I did ask why when a price goes up, I don't have to opt in to those, but was told this is just a business decision. I think this is a total con.
He did credit my account as a gesture of good will.0
