Argos - Beko washing Machine £179 Do not buy!

I bought a Beko Washing Machine - currently on offer with Argos. Had to wait 5 days for it to be delivered. I asked for 12-6pm delivery slot. I then received a text to say it would be delivered between 2-4pm.
It arrived at 10am!
I plumbed it in despite the instructions supplied being for a completely different model.
It advises to put it on 60oc which took over 2hrs then it just switched off - no spin or drain and water went everywhere.
Phoned Beko customer services which were useless! They told me to put it on again for another 2 hours. Same again. Then i was told that for the first use you have to manually drain the water into a bucket and put it on yet again for another 2 hours!!!!
Now I have a machine full of water. Argos won't remove it until it has no water in. Beko won't send an Engineer out. So now I have to empty the machine by lifting the machine up into a bucket and await collection in 1 week! Argos said they would refund me £179 but what a nightmare. Now I've heard of others with a similar problem and then something about their fridges catching fire!

Ridiculous statement. The OP bought a washing machine, manufacturer and price are irrelevant. He/she expected a washing machine that worked and had clear instructions. Not too much to ask, regardless of the price paid.
I've had a few Beko products and all have been satisfactory - my current fridge and freezer ( seperate units) are Beko.0 -
I'm guessing that you haven't had them for long...;)
Fridge freezer lasted me 4/5 years, working when I gave it away as moving to a smaller place. Still working now (approx 8 years).
Washing machine (1) worked fine for 3 years, sold with house.
Washing machine (2) bought with house, lasted us 2 years, was apparently around 5 years old when we got it.
Current fridge and freezer, both around 2.5 years old, no problems with either.0 -
LOL, I know you'd come back with something like that! My 13-month-old Beko fridge/freezer went into a skip when it's compressor packed up, otherwise I'd happily have donated it to your Beko collection.
(Into a skip metaphorically, that is, before anyone jumps on me for not disposing of it correctly!)Je suis Charlie.0 -
I'v had a beko fridge for 15yrs and it works perfectly
Beko washer for 5 years and it works perfectly
Beko Cooker for 7 years and it works perfectly
Sorry to hear of your problems0 -

Yeah, I know people have issues with all sorts of electrical items, I just wanted to put a different viewpointI'd happily buy Beko again and I know others wouldn't.
As for a 13 month old appliance being skipped, the SOGA would possibly have helped you sort that with the retailer...0 -

It may have done, but sometimes when I'm busy (self-employed) I have to make a calculation as to how much of my time it's worth expending on it - and the Beko having been admittedly dirt cheap it was a more efficient use of my time simply to order a new one (an Electrolux which was still going strong many years later when it was replaced due to no longer being suitable for my re-fitted kitchen).
Cheap , however, is not the same as good value, hence no more Beko for me!Je suis Charlie.0 -
My Mum bought the Beko cheap washer, lasted precisely 14 months before it died. I wanted to argue the toss with Argos over it but Mum just wanted it replaced ASAP so it went down the tip.
I've had a few friends and family pass similar comment with Beko products now so I'm afraid they are firmly on my avoid list.0
