UKCPS £100 fine for parking outside the white line!

I got a £100 parking penalty for parking otuside of the white lines. The car park was in a retail outlet and was free. When I came out of the shop I was told that I would recieve a £100 fine for parking illegally. True to form, two weeks later I received a letter saying that I had to pay £100, but reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.
I had a look on this website and took the advice to ignorethe letter however I have now received another one from a company called Court Proceedings Ltd London. It states that they have been instructed by UKCPS to recover the debt and that they want to offer me the opportunity to settle the debt in full by paying £120. It then makes threats that it “may result in court action being progressed”. It also says that failure to pay or contact them will lead to immediate action being progressed and could end up with me having a County Court Judgement, Bailiff Action, Doorstep Collection or Attachment of Earnings Order against me which could severely damage my chances of getting credit or a mortgage in the future.
Having read this site I anticipate getting a whole heap of other letters and I have absolutely no intention of paying anything. I am tempted just to ignore the letters and stand my ground as per the advice on this site, however if it did get to court would I be criticised for failing to respond? Advice would be really appreciated.

Standard advice is to ignore. It's no different in your case.0

You seek reassurance that they are scammers and are making meaningless threats?
Consider yourself reassured. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
You have given enough detail in your post to clearly identify yourself, I would suggest editing everything in it to stop that, the reasoning is that Peter haswell their office lackey/manager trolls these websites looking for people like you seeking advice, please ignore any PMs you get from people with below 200 postsExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Wow, I had no idea. Many thanks.0

Ignore Hasbeen's company's threats, you owe the landowner nothing.
Ignore the threats and ignore the retail park0 -
LOL yes the Court Proceedings one is hilarious, its a blatant attempt to fraudulently pose as an official court letter. Absolutely outrageous. I rang them up after the first one and argued with them, they hung up on me in the end. ROFL**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts. If any Parking Pirates have a problem with my post then contact me for my solicitors address.*****0
